I must say, I love golf, but if this was my only option as far as courses were concerned I would take up squash. It feels like you have taken a 7 iron up to a field to hit a few balls. The 1st green is nearly on the main road, the second green actually had a group of kids having a picnic on it and a dog that kept going for your ball. The 15th hole had a man and his dog who nicked ALL our balls and the rest of the course seems to have random people just strolling up the fairways totally oblivious to the fact that it is actually meant to be a golf course. It seems that golfers really do come second place which I would normally say is a shame but it's not really as the course is not worth playing anyway. I was expecting to find a set of swings and a see saw on the 18th but I didn't, instead I found 3 lads on bikes riding over it!!! It seems that everyone just thinks this place looks like a park and I think I agree with them. You may think I am being overly harsh, and maybe I am a bit, but the balls I lost to the dogs were bloody Pro V1's!!!! (lol).

I agree with everyone that it very short and very tight, but when I played at the end of March 2007, the condition of the course was awful. The greens were just poor and if you were off the fairway you felt as if you were in a mud heap. No holes really stand out. Will only return if I am forced to.

Deceptively difficult short course. Need to be very accurate off the tee and around the greens. High handicappers need a lot of balls!
Very friendly staff and made welcome by members.
Excellent value.

An enjoyable tight little course. It's quite short but also the proximity of the trees make you think about each shot.
Even though I am a high hadicapper i thoroughly enjoyed playing here, even though the weather wasn't great.
It feels good to play the shorter course every now and again and reaching a par 4 in 1 is always a bonus even if it is only 274 off the tee.
I think low handicappers and longer hitters would probably think that it is too short but I enjoyed my round.

I played this course 15 July 2004. To say the least it was in excellent condition; the greens in particular were superb. I am a high handicap golfer who found it challenging without being off putting. The need to be straight off the tee is paramount. I particularly liked the fact that being long off the tee is not a requirement - accuracy both off the tee and around the green being much better rewarded.
I would recommend it to anyone.

I am a 5 hcp golfer who finds this course a good test of golf because of the accuracy required of the tee's and the need for a strong short game. the course is in excellent condition for this time of year having just played there and however long the course you still have to play golf.
An enjoyable experiance as always with the welcome in the club house friendly and warm, a joy for any one staying in the area.

I am a relative beginner with 20 or so rounds under my belt and I have to say I found this quite tricky in places, I certainly didn’t break 80! As is stated elsewhere, the fairways are tight and tree-lined and demand straight hitting.
One thing stuck me more than this though. I don’t know if there is public right of way throughout the course but during the first few holes especially we were almost surrounded! I very nearly hit someone with my first shot; they ignored my shout of fore until the ball landed a yard from them. Also, I had to wait for someone’s dog to stop nibbling my ankles before playing my second. I am not joking. It did get better and the 15th is a lovely hole. Maybe this sort of thing is fairly standard but I hadn’t encountered it before.

Well there have been some harsh comments about the quality of this course, but I think the reviewers are missing the point. Yes, it's easy but the course is not aimed at Tiger Woods and despite some comments I found that it was well maintained. The fairways are tight and nearly all tree lined so you have to be accurate and there are numerous tricky dog legs. It's also not as crowded as many Surrey clubs are becoming and the hospitality in the pro-shop and club house made a refreshing change. I'd recomend it to beginners and improvers

I agree with Carole. This is quite simply the worst course in the county, if not the south of England. The drainage is atrocious and the southern section of the course suffers from the overflow from the sewage works when the weather has been inclement. the members are very friendly and the club house is nice but this doesn'[t detract from a well designed course that has been allowed to go to rack and ruin.
Cheggers (England) 09/09/01
This is a great course in great condition. It has improved over the last 2 years as I frequent it often. The Members and staff are very hospitable and I will not hesitate recommending it to my friends and all other golfers I meet..........
Steven Gregory (UK) 16/07/01
An old traditional course. When I played there in a club competition I found the members to be the very best hosts. It depends what you want from golf; good course or good company. At Redhill you will find good company and a well maintained course. The course will however be critisised (see below). I thoroughly enjoyed the day when I played at Redhill and would gladly play there again to enjoy their wonderful hospitality.
CAROLE ANDERSON (ENGLAND) 05/07/01
A CHARMING DELIGHTFUL COURSE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE COURSE DEMANDS STRAIGHT HITTING AS IT'S FULLY TREE LINED. THE HOSPITALITY WE RECIEVED FROM MEMBERS AND STAFF WAS SECOND TO NONEAND WE WIL DEFINATELY BE RETURNING SOON.
(ENGLAND) 07/08/00
Redhill and Reigate, well mostly Woodhatch. This course is quite simply the worst I have ever played. In its defence I would recommend it to those who lack golfing ability. It is so easy you have to be a reject to shoot over 80. Avoid at all costs. Please note this is not a joke this is how it is really like.
