Played here as part of a 30 man society on a very sunny June 8th 2008, great package- breakfast on arrival 18 holes and 2 course meal after. course in exellent condition, only grumble was the state of the tee's, very bear and uneven, played 3 holes off mats! overall we had a great day and will return with society next year.

Firstly my ratings apply for the winter period.
Having played here on and off for many years I can tell you this is strictly a summer only course. In summer after a warm spell its a nice course to play. Fairways and greens are good to average and there is good variety to the holes. Recently there has been a new club house built and driving range adjacent. Incidentally the automatic ball dipersers have only one set up for left handed players so on our visit this was occupied so I was stuffed. There should be 2 or 3 or lefties.
Now the bad part. For 6 months or more this course is in an apalling condition resembling a swamp in areas and ankle deep mud almost everywhere. We booked a round recently here and this is what happened. When we turned up we were advised that we had to play all shots off little rubber mats which cost £5 each -not refundable. But as we dont have many left your group will have to share 1 mat. Picture drives on each side of the fairway and having to walk over to your partner with the matt. Butworst of all we not told this when we booked. If we had been we could have saved the bother of even going there. This is unforgiveable. Anyway when we asked the person in the shop why we ware not told this when I booked he shrugged his shoulders. Jobsworth or what. Needless to say we did not bother. I could go on and on but in a nutshell this is an average municipal course in summer but to be avoided at all costs between October to March. The best winter course in the North West is Heaton park as it is well drained. Thank you and i hope this helps you and good golfing.

It's almost 12 years since I last played at Regents Park returning this weekend (16/7/06). Since then there's a new driving range, the front and back 9 have been reversed but the general integrity of the course remains. This is a parkland course with some greta views - expecially if you're a Wanderers supporter.
The general condition of the course is quite good but it is clear there are several patched up repairs of some of the fairways. The greens were in reasonable condition but lacked consistency, some like lightning others like putting on shag-pile.But let's be fair, this is a £10 round (£14 at weekends) on a very busy and popular course.
The clubhouse has just been refitted and looks a lot better for it.
The course will give players of all levels a test and a chance in equal measures. Book at least a week in advance. It's worth a visit.

Excellent for begineers and those of us who play municipal golf. Front nine doesnt hurt those of us that dont hit it long. Put it on the fairway and you can score well. Back nine has some longer holes that reward big hitters. Good course that requires that you think your way round, but a course planner would be nice. Good price, facilities being updated at the moment. Some bunkers devoid of sand, some designated as ground under repair. Tee times not too closely bunched like you get at some municipals where there are 4 groups all waiting on the 1st tee
