Rochester and Cobham Park Golf Club Player Reports
Tim Davies (England) 09/07/04
Played this course yesterday, which was a few days after it was used as a qualifier for the British Open 2004. Presumably, they hadn't changed the pin positions which were interesting, to say the least. Having read negative reviews about the waist length rough, I have to say that I found the course to be excellent and a real challenge. The fairways are good, the first cut not too punishing, and the greens were fast and true. The rough IS punishing, but it should be!

Played on 31/7/01 in a society. The course was good condition but the greens were a little slow and therefore as the previous author said difficult to read. This was not helped by the fact they had been aireated the day before. Layout is OK but some par 4's are very short. Rough was very punishing and too much time was spent up to the waist in long grass by most of us. Bunkers were excellent as were the practice facilities and the clubhouse. Would argue that the course is a little expensive for what it is.
P. Campbell (British) 23/05/01
Played 22nd May 2001 in windy but dry conditions.
Good course management essential. You must stay on fairways, as rough is punishing.
Time spent looking for lost balls could be a factor that would deter societies.
Greens were mottled with 'furry' grass They were on the slow side and difficult to read.
Nice, well- staffed modern clubhouse.
