played on the 20/2/06 paid 25£ well worth every penny make sure you are a good bunker player as there are plenty of greens were a bit slow but when you stand on the 1st tee at 474yds you know your in for a tough time.

A group of nine of us played two rounds at Royal Blackheath on 25th April 2003, and I have to say we had a fantastic day. The clubhouse, course and staff were all superb. Our group had handicaps ranging from 8 to 35, and it was reasonably suited to all, although possibly a bit short for the longer hitters. We would definitely go back.

Played Royal Blackheath for the first time yesterday as guest of a member and found the course very enjoyable. Considering the very dry weather we have recently had I thought the course was in first class condition although the greens had recently seen a lot of work carried out on them (which we were made aware of before we teed off!!)
Tough opening hole, if you make par here you will feel like you just made birdie, believe me!
Some very good holes, noteably the 3rd, and 17th, a monster of a par 4 where once again consider par a bonus.
The history behind this club can be felt the moment you enter the very imposing clubhouse, but the welcome afforded to both myself and another friend playing as guests was a credit to all concerned. Would very much like a return visit if only I can persuade the member because at £15 the day it has to be the bargain of the decade!!

After being invited by a business aquaintance to join him for a round at Royal Black Heath, I made the eighty mile trip down into London. He had phoned the club and requested that we could play there as guests, this was granted and we were told it would be £30 green fees, reasonable i thought. On arrival we were told by the very friedly and helpful chap in the proshop this was actully a price based on a four ball and it was actually £120 for the tee (3 of us £40 each) we paid up anyway. Funny though that the proshop (shack) didnt take cards, only cheque or cash. Then we read on the notice board outside that there was a trolley ban on and there were 9 temporary greens also. I don't expect to pay £40 at a well respected club and have to lug my clubs round and play on temp greens. It was the first time i had played there and to be honest i could not understand the trolley ban as the course was very well drained. Other than the spectacular club house and 18th green i couldn't think of a reason to play here again, i have seen better council run courses offering much better value for money and indeed service. To top it all there was a chap having lessons on the left of the first using the fairway as a range! It was also strange to note that after midday we only saw a handful of other players, the course was deserted, i wonder why?
