A fantastic course in a fantasic location, though the views are not as impressive as some of the courses locally. Drive the ball straight here, otherwises you will not know where it has gone. A tough course because of the start, plenty of par 4's over 400 yards in the first seven holes, the 7th being doubleably difficult being a blind tee shot onto a narrow fairway.

Plenty of holes on the back 9 are blind tee shots and greens you can't see the putting surface which means you need to play the course on at least once so you know where to aim. The lighthouse hole is the feature hole and justifiably so, a blind dogleg left tee shot, with a hog back fairway, and the green sitting next to the lighthouse.

The 9th hole 'Wembley' is a lovely short par 3. The tee is about 50ft above the hole with bunkers completely surrounding the green, picking the right club is essential, not a hole for the faint hearted.

I've been a member for about one year and on my first round of 18 there i was addicted to the course. The course will give you some good challeges. It is set right next to the cliffs of the east cost of norfolk and has spectacular sights over the golf course and sea. From the tee to the green it is very well kept and the clubhouse is not bad.

Play Royal Cromer on a beautiful day in April. Excellent value for money and the Lighthouse hole is something else. Wonderful views, super mix of holes and above all a fair test for all handicaps.Must come back and play your course again, soon.

Superb golf course at any time of the year. The greens are fast and true even in mid Winter. Lots of very challenging holes, even without the wind blowing. Unfortunately like all courses along the Norfolk coast its expensive. The charges seem designed to keep the ordinary golf club member out. However if you can get the twilight deal its much more reasonable. Having played this course many times over the years I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The Pro Shop is excellent, and the clubhouse pleasent though some of the members are a trifle snooty, but thats to be expected of a "Royal" course!

If you are on holiday treat yourself.

Lovely course. Played a couple of weeks ago in a pretty strong wind, but even so it's certainly possible to score well here (I play off 16 and was virtually on handicap). I suppose it's a bit of a hybrid, with some holes running along the cliffs to small greens, and others having a more open, parkland feel. All were in very good nick, and the greens were moderately fast and very true. There are some interesting changes in levels, and beautiful views - and overall the holes are varied, offering different challenges. You'll also get away with a few more slightly wayward drives than at most pure links courses.

Must also mention the extremely friendly staff in the shop and bar (although, having just played some top courses in Ireland, it'd be lovely if some clubs over here could be a bit more relaxed about partners' smart jeans...but then that's not a criticism of Cromer). In summary, a very welcoming, scenic, testing but fair course. I loved it.

Visited Royal Cromer on 20 May with a group from my club and what a delight the course was. Greens were quick and true and the course gave you chances to make a score (provided you kept it reasonably straight). The people at Cromer could not have been more welcoming and the off course facilities were excellent. We all agreed that we would love to return at a future date. 9/10
