Rushmere Golf Club Player Reports
Andrew Barnes (England) 26/09/04
Played Rushmere on 20/09/2004 as a group of 8 of us. Using Open Fairways it fortunately only cost £19.50 per head. Had we had to suffer the full £39 for a round we would have considered it grossly over-priced. Never seen quite so many dogs on a golf course (and we've played plenty with fotpaths going thru them). Whilst most of the dog faeces were in pink plastic bags, it is hardly a welcoming sight when ploughing through the masses of gorse in pursuit of an errant ball. Much of the grass, well trodden and rock hard with some bad bounces. NOT on the list for our next trip to Suffolk
Nick Davis (England) 03/03/03
Greens were in excellent condition being both true and even paced. Course generally unattractive - it is over common public ground with many non golfers walking dogs (some dog mess around the fairways and teeing areas)...some holes are through woodland others lined with ball swallowing gorse!!! Fairways in very good condition for time of year. The course is a good test of golfing ability perhaps being suited more to distance hitters (fairways usually wide and forgiving) than those whos game is shorter but more accurate. The course has some excellent par threes. Overall I would rate the course as 6/10, other people who dont care much for the beauty of a course might give it a higher score.
