Ashby Decoy Golf Club Player Reports

We played the corse as part of a society day on the 22nd of Feb 2008. Thankfully we were blessed with a dry day though the wind did ensure that the course would play tougher than usual. I felt that the course was in excellant condition considering the recent weather. The fairways and greens were in fine condition and the course provided all players with a thorough test of there ball striking. My only criticism would be that the layout was poorly signposted which led to confusion at certain times. i am sure this is something that the staff will look to remedy. I would recommend the course to all players and the staff in the clubhouse were extremely efficient and helpful.

Played Ashby Decoy for the first time 29/06/05 for the first time using a 2 for 1 voucher - the course is superb, an excellent and challenging layout that requires you to think your way around. The condition of the course is first rate, with best greens i've played on - receptive and true rolling, the fairways are also excellent and the bunkers have plenty of fine sand in them.

18 holes during the week is only a tenner with a 2 for 1 voucher - half the price and as good as its more well known neighbour Forest Pines.

Excellent course in lovely surroundings. Even squirrels allow you to tickle their chins!! Quite a flat course aswell so suitable for all on outings. Great par 3 16th where you have to virtually 'fly the trees' with a short iron. Good mix of holes and friendly hospitality.
