played sherdley park on the 31st of may. tee time 09.47. did,nt get off the course till 13.45. this course needs some signs for slow play. we were only a 2 ball but had to keep waitng on at least 6 tees. such a pity as the course is in great condition. the greens are very good and the fairways as well. will go back there hoping there is signs up for the fairweather and summer players, but not at weekends.

Sheredley my homecourse, and what a lucky person i am having it on my doorstep. Challenging front nine, but make sure you carry a Kingcobra driver and you wont go far wrong, the back nine is easier but still alot of traps to avoid. Lovely greens for a municipal and looked after fairways, the best Municipal i have ever played and probably ever will.

On the 29/09/07 Our society played this course, what great little gem this turned out to be, the last time I played this course was about 7 years ago, and at that time is was not good. This course is in almost top notch condition, the only thing that let it down at time of our visit was some of the greens had been drained! (I think), but having said that, when this re grows, this course will be on a par (excuse the pun) with the best of them, the only other thing was some of the bunkers need a little more sand. As regards to the last comment about short holes, well in my case it don’t half make you fell good when you are a couple of yards of the green after your drive, but then down to earth when you take another four attempts to put the bloody ball in the hole.
And of course the 19 hole, Great little club house, and you must try a pint of Murphy’s in here, my golf was s**t but the ale was great

This is a well kept maintained Municipal course with very good greens. However the back 9 is far too short with many of the par 4 holes driveable from the tee. I even seen some juniors put the ball on the green on some par 4 holes. I believe a par 4 should not be reachable in 1 shot even for big hitters. You should always have at least a mid iron even after a good drive. Obviously I posted my personal best score here. It makes you think you are better than you are then reality sets in when you play a long challenging course. A few signposts on the approach roads would be good idea too. It must be hard to find the bridge for non locals.
Last time I played the group in front were drinking cans of beer and throwing their empty cans on the middle of the fairways. This is disgraceful and should not be tolerated. It seems to be a Merseyside thing this as I seen the same at Bowring Park and Bootle.
Having said all that I always enjoy playing here. The greens are really good and in general the course is well kept. But its more suitable for beginners than say mid to single figure handicappers who will find it far too short and lacking in challenge. Good golfin.

i think this course is one of the best i have been to and i think every hole is a challange, the greens are kept in pristine condition on every hole.As with the fairways aswell, i may even buy a membership here because it is GREAT!!!!!!!

As municipals go, this has to be one of the best. Although the clubhouse doesnt look great, the staff are pleasant, and the greenkeepers do a fine job making sure it stays in decent nick. It is always an enjoyable round, with a great variety of challenging holes suitable for all ability levels.
Your golf game is not the only thing to be tested at Sherdley - a good level of fitness is also a must - the hill up to the 13th tee is an absolute killer!
