Belfairs Park Golf Course Player Reports
Tommy Franklin (England) 17/06/08
I played this course for the first time and was really impressed by it. You get your moneys worth for the round which cost £19.50 a round on the weekend. For a public course it is kept in really good condition specially the tee off areas and the greens. The only downside to it is open to the public and where a couple of dogs running around (mainly due to the golf course being set in a park)
The front nine is open compared to the back nine however is still challenging. The course has lovely challenging par 3's, one where you are playing into the blind and another where the green is surrounded by 2 massive bunkers.
The back nine is in the woods and it is important to keep the ball straight, althought the back nine is set out alot better the fairways are not as good as there is some king of hardcore under the grass. However the surroundings make up for it.
Will definatley be playing the course again.

Fairways on the Back 9 are pretty poor. Its annoying that you can be long and straight off the tee avoiding the trees but are then punished by landing on hard mud and stones. Other than that the greens are very well kept for a public course and the back 9 is a decent test. Its £18.70 at the weekends now and about £9 summer twilight.

Took Mr Hughes advice and waited for a sunny sunday morning, unbelieveable 7am on a sunday morning and not a flag in sight,we assume the local low life use them as javelins as that would explain the big divots on the fairway, apart from this the course is very challenging and greens in good repair nice and flat, the beast has been tamed(mr.hughes)but a word of advice watch out for the crows on the 13th hole as they tend to fly off with your brand new titleist, try it a good 12 pound spent mid week

This course is a very good course, all things considering. It is a public course with nice fast greens good fairways and descent tee areas. It is cheap for a junior and is a nice alternative to always hitting 'the big stick'. You need precision around this course it is very much tree-lined.

Sunday morning, just as the sun is coming up is the best time to play this busy course.
You will need your wits about you when playing the back 9 as the fairways are a little unforgiving. Overall, the course is great! some tricky and challenging holes will await you.
12 is a beast and heavily guarded. You have been warned.
