Springfield is an ideal course to learn your golfing trade (been learning for seven years!). First couple long and tricky and eighth just tricky for hookers but most of remainder of front nine forgiving. You're likeley to find a fairway though not necessarily the right one. Back 9 shorter, slightly tighter but card wrecking index 1 15th has potential to scatter mourners in cemetery that runs down left hand side.
Since change of management, has slightly more corporate feel, but general improvement of course noted, particularly greens. Also home to Council Gents toilets that genuinely give those in Trainspotting serious competition

Good condition for a muni, a bit on the short side and very open. Ideal for a beginner and can't go wrong for under a tenner!

Played in Autumn and the greens were in good condition and overall the fairways looked to be well kept. The first few holes you have to play blind as they are fairly hilly and sweep left. Keep an oxygen can spare for the 17th as a local golfer told me its named cardiac hill and he was'nt wrong. Overall a good challenge for 9 quid and a public course.

a reasonable course for any player with most fair ways sloping off to the left.decent greens and a good variety of holes.some long par 5's and 3's all in all a decent round of golf for a public course.
