St. Austell Golf Club Player Reports
Martin Eady (England) 15/09/04
We played this course on 8th September. First thing I would say is that it cost £30 per round and not as stated above. Having said that, we used a 2-fore-1 voucher and would say that we got very good value for money.
The pro-shop was well stocked and the staff were friendly.
The course isn't particularly long, however because of its height above the neighbouring land was very windy (and I would guess would always be so!). The wind was its main defence although I would say that the course was in excellent condition with some very interesting holes. Throughout the round you have to hit uphill, downhill and on sidehill lies. The greens are smooth and true. Also there are some fun, elevated tees which are even better when you hit downwind (shame it wasn't on our day!).
It is a friendly place with good facilities. I would recommend it was on everyone's schedule if in the area.
