This course is one of the finest in the North-West, it has been in magnificent condition on both occasions I have played it in the last two years. The green fee is £40 per round or £50 per day midweek and is good value for that. The clubhouse is traditional and the welcome is generally friendly.

I played this course in August 2006 and found the course an absoloute delight to play.I play off a handicap of 6 and found this course extremely interesting and know two holes were alike. The course was also flawless, the best tees i have ever played off and the greens were imacculate and fast, the fairways also superb. Everyone at the club was very friendly and we didnt get held up at all the whole way round. Easilly one of the best courses in cheshire and if you are in the area it is well worth the money and i can assure you, you wont be disappointed.

Apologies, mt previous email referred to Mr Riley, should have been Mr Green.
Mark White (England) 01/04/05
Odd that Mr Riley had such issues only two days after my party of 20 played the course. It was our second year as the first had been so superlative.
The food is superb and great value. Most in the party are below 12 - serious golfers and who have played around the world.
The course was spot on, very well maintained and as challenging as ever. Great fun, great course and we will be back this year.

Played there on the 17th feb 2004 with The Swing Positive Golf Society and we all find it difficult to understand previous comments.
We paid £30 per head for bacon butties golf and a splendid Rack of Lamb with all the trimmings this is excellent value and would urge anyone to play and experience this excellent course we all enjoyed the course from 5 handicapper to 28(sorry Steve H0),and only saw 3 other golfers and some sheep(no lambs)no Mobile phones or dog walkers in site.

When I decided to play at Stockport Golf club, I was after a good game of golf but I have to admit it is one of the poorest courses I've ever come across in my life. My handicap rose by 20 strokes as my usual handicap is 7. The roughs are identical to the fairway and the greens are churned up. I was rudely interupted whilst playing by other players asking if I'd seen there ball and dog walkers talking loudly and swearing whilst on the phone. Overall a very disapointing course.
