Played 15 June 06. A very interesting, hilly layout on the border of the peak district with great views.
Not a course for the less able bodied, some of the climbs are severe (the 16th is called 'North Face' !!).
The course was in very good allround condition with fairways, tees & greens all excellent. Although the course is short it a very good test with small undulating greens.
The only crticism is a lack of yardages which on a course with so many elevation changes was a big problem. Friendly staff and a great proshop.
A bargain at £8.50 with a 2-for-1 voucher

You will definately need a drink after you have finished playing this course!! On a summers day it is a pleasure to play - fantastic views - excellent greens (but very small). Not a very long course but you need to be accurate to score well. A credit to the game of golf. Very friendly clubhouse too. Well done Stocksbridge

Originally built as a 9 hole course, this was converted to an 18 holer without the benefit of using extra land. It shows too! at two different parts of the course fairways crossed and as we were playing down our fairway we had a fourball waiting for us to clear the fairway so they could play across us. ( potentially dangerous, hows your golf insurance? )
it is a tidy well looked after little course, but there is simply not enough room there for 18 holes.

Although this course in not at all long dont think you are in for an easy day and a low score ,it can be very tricky .The greens are very small and hard to put on, accurate iron play is a must or the heather will make your ball disapear!Wind is allways an aspect you have to contend with (the third tee is 500ft above sea level)The views are superb but the course is a BIT hilly.Leave the driver at home and play the safe game,no place here for wild tee shots.Played the course in june 05 and it was in good nick, although i believe in winter time it gets very wet, mats and temps are the norm. All in all i would recommend the course it was nice to play a course where long drives weren't the answer ,just very accurate golf.Well done Stocksbridge!!!
