Played here midweek August 07 (£25 after 4.30 ).

Superb parkland course & a real hidden gem.I went there expecting it to be decent but it way exceeded my expectations .The course & clubhouse are just about ideal . Not as celebrated as some in Surrey but in terms of sheer enjoyment i'd rate it about the best i've played in the county (including Sunningdale ,Wentworth etc.)& at a fraction of the cost.

Beautifully designed holes with great variety ,good bunkering & lots of different tree types lining the fairways .This is the best Harry Colt course i've played.Sometimes on Colt courses there are too many long par 4's & it becomes hard work but this isn't the case here.There are quite a few par 4's that give you a chance if you hit a good drive & along with an excellent collection of par 3's (refreshingly ,3 of which are around the 150 /160 yard mark) make it a hugely enjoyable & fun course to play.

What the greens committee need to do here is resist any calls to lengthen or modernise the course as it's perfect the way it is.

I didn't think there were any weak holes , most of the holes are visually good from the tee & as you go round you get the feeling that the remaining holes are going to be good.

The stroke index 1 hole 14 is a real stunner with a massive drop from the tee to the fairway down below & the finishing holes play through a valley .Great dogleg last hole with a carry off the tee.

Lovely traditional clubhouse with a terrace & balcony.Perfectly paced greens too.

Minor shortcomings were that when i tried to play here a couple of months ago i didn't feel that the pro i spoke to was making much of an effort to accomodate us telling me that "they were busy everyday"(strangely when we played we had the course to ourselves) .However when i played this time the reception was fine.Also road noise affects a few holes & the fairways,although decent , were slightly sparse in places & not quite in keeping with the overall excellence of everything else.I understand there is an intensive programme to get them in top order.

If i was a member here i would never get tired of playing this course.

Played in very wet conditions in early January 2007, the course held up very well. Plays quite tight in places. Played with a junior and found the 14th to best the best hole/tee he has ever seen, maybe slightly over the top but standing on top of the 14th feels fantastic. Will certainly return.

Tandridge is a must for all golfers who want a good day out. The course is always in great condition and a number of holes present real challenges. If it gets to you, enjoy the far reaching views and look forward to a friendly reception by the staff and the traditional surroundings of the club house. You can't beat lunch at the club which never disappoints!

An excellent course which has invariably been in good condition on my 6 or 7 visits with societies over the last 3 years. Interesting holes which are challenging but fair to the mid-handicapper.

It doesn't get much better than this Golf Club for a great day out. My Society has been visiting Tandridge regularly since before the last war and is one of our most popular venues. Always great food - forget about dieting, the carvery just cannot be beaten - and the course is a real delight. Stand on the 14th tee and marvel at the view before your shot into the valley below. Any 4 on this hole is well remembered. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive to the last putt is sunk, nothing is too much trouble. Well worth the visit.

SPARKS holds an annual golf day at Tandridge Golf Club and has done so for the last 3 years in this time we have raised more than £45,000 for vital medical research. We always receive exceptional service from the club and receive assistance from all the friendly staff throughout the day.

The course is a fantastic layout and well suited for all golfing levels with a variety of different holes and some outstanding views.

Tandridge is most frequently remembered by the guests and celebrities who play on the day for its wonderful carvery lunch which is served up by the chef and his catering team.

SPARKS would rate Tandridge Golf Club fairly highly in comparison to its other venues and therefore would give it an overall rating of 7/10

Beautiful views and an interesting course to play. Wonderful food and a warm welcome in the Club House.Great course to play in the winter as they rarely have trolley bans and the course drys out rapidly. It is hardly ever muddy.

I first played the course some fifty years ago and it is only in recent years that I have been lucky to play it again. I much enjoy the course which is a real challenge with some wonderful holes. I have yet to master either the 17th or 18th which can be real killers. The clubhouse superb and if I were a Member my figure would be at risk from the superb catering. i look forward to my annual trip in June with eager anticipation.

I have played Tandridge a number of times over the years and found it an excellent parkland course- invariably in great condition. Scenically beautiful with a couple of quite spectacular holes - the 14th in particular. Delightful Club House and very friendly service. Excellent carvery in delightful surroundings. Altogether a good test of golf without being punitive and some extremely interesting holes. I look forward to my next visit with keen anticipation

I have played this course many times over the past 60 years. Its condition may have varied over this period - although it is fine now - but one thing that has been consistently excellent is the catering; amongst the very best in the south of England and nearly as good as Muirfield.

The course is not over long - about 6,500 off the whites if my memory is correct - but long hitters beware, the trees seem to close in at over 250 yards!

I wil always return to this great place.

I've played this course twice and will be returning shortly to play again.In my opinion one of southern Englands best kept secrets.There are some truly stunning holes.The only gripe is in winter you are too far forward,but thats my probelm and I'll make the effort and play it in summer.Also catering is very good just don't try and play afterwards as the puddings certainly put some meat on your ribs.

A very pleasant course. Played there 5 or 6 times now and always enjoy it. If I was to critise I would observe that it is a course of 2 nines of different charecter. The front 9 is not too spectacular, very nice but not hugely memorable. The second nine though has some great holes, especially the 14th with its very elevated tee and great views. The 13th is one of the more challenging par 3's that you will encounter and the 17th and 18th are similarly superb golf holes. Greens can be a bit variable early in the season - this I believe due to the elevation of the course resulting in a lateish growing season but that is me getting picky. Club house exhibits vast quantities of old wood panneling and is full off charecter, food is great and the pro is a good guy even if he was highly critical of my swing!

Great course, I played it about a year ago and Im still waiting for a chance to go back. No two holes alike, some dramatic teeshots and tricky doglegs.

Well having read young Robert Wicks's account of tandridge i must say I agree with him 100%. Tandridge truely is a fine course, with a great layout splendid facilities and always in prime condition ready for golfers to bathe in the sheer glory of what the course has to offer. Also being a member of croham hurst, and junior captain as young rob, I am used to playing a fine course so i feel i am qualified to say tandridge truely is an oustanding golfing domain!.

Tandridge Golf Club is one of Surrey's finest layouts, as a junior golfer at Croham Hurst I played Tandridge on many occasions.

As a golf club the facilities are good. There's a practice putting green, nets, and a driving range at the back of the 17th tee.

As for the course itself, well words are hard to find when standing above a 100ft drop like at the 14th tee! In conjunction the front nine is just as impressive. I understand that few societies get to play here, so usually the greens and general course condition is superb.

As a non member I've only played it during summer when the ground gets hard a bouncing. But I can imagine that the course retains its condition through-out the winter as it's situated just below the North Downs.

In summery, my opion of Tandridge Golf Club is that its a superb place to play and I recommend you do just that!

One of the best courses I have played this year. A superb layout and a great test, especially in the wind.Greens are pretty good being quite quick and true. Best golf holes are 2,9,10,13,14and 18.Definitley worth a visit.
