Tinsley Park Golf Club (Municipal) Player Reports
Alistair How (England) 21/10/05
Played Mid October and agree that this a great value muni. Once you pass through the industrial estate and pay the car park a quid to watch your car, the facilities are good. Practise area, shabby but well stocked pro shop and a high quality course. No scuffed greens, nicked flags and bare bunkers here.
Course was a bit spongy but it had rained a lot, so in the summer it might be a little easier with more role. Back nine felt a bit more challenging with some tricky dog legs and a bit more in the way of contours.
For £13 the locals must be in heaven. No driving range, but a few miles over the motorway you can practise.

This is the best municipal course in Sheffield, better than some of the private courses. The greens are the excellent, and the Par 4 10th is awesome as I holed in 2 with a 6-iron from about 300 yards(ish). The 9th has a very solid tree which withstood the full force of another of my 6-irons after a wayward shot. I now have a new 6-iron!. Good egg butties available from the upstairs bar.

I have only played the course once in a semifinal cup match,i can only say for a municipal golf course it was superb. Value for money and what super greens, if only more municipal courses were of this high standard.OH by the way we lost the match so i am not biass, thanks for a great day.

I have played Tinsley Park many times and although I am only 12 years of age, I think the course is excellent in the summer but in the Winter the raised 6th tee is normally boggey. It still plays very well. If you like a challenge you should be impreesed when you see the 16th it is around 460 yards - 500 yards. The 3rd hole is also a long one around 460 yards which is a par 5 I got a par when I played in September.
