Trent Park Public Golf Course Player Reports

This is a nice course easily accessed from London. For a public course it was in very good condition as the fairways were well groomed. It's only downfall is that you do have to wait on the tees and it is madness if you do not pre-book your tee time. I rang the club and they told me I did not need to book a tee time and when Iarrive they make me wait 45 minutes. But overall, a very nice course

I played at this course a few years back (on a Saturday morning in the winter) and said at the time I would not return as the club was being very, very greedy in the number of people they thought they could cram in to make an extra few quid for tee-off times.

My round (in a 4 ball) was abandoned at the 12th after 5 hours... un-enjoyable and unimpressive.

I note from many of the comments left for this club that they are still upto their old, greedy tactics...

Vote with your feet there are many more decent public courses near where you can get a four-ball completed on a Sat/Sun in around 4 hours...

I play this course on a weekly basis. For the avid golfer who is out to play golf(and not a summer hacker) - do NOT play anytime after 8am at the weekends or you will be in for a very, very frustrating time. The course is well kept and pretty open if you like to 'Rip it' you can get away with a not so perfect strike. A few more fairway bunkers would help add a little more spice to the course(although this may slow the course down even more!). In all, you can't really go wrong for £20 a round. The range does not open until around 10am, which is a pain if you want to warm up before a round. The balls are of a poor standard which is a real shame.

The burger hut burnt down some time ago, and in true Trent Park style - they have not replaced it! So be warned, if you want a drink on the course - take it with you!! They did, at one stage, drive around selling water & sandwiches which seems to have stoped- Bizzare!

Nice quick round today for a change (under 3 and a half hours) Last round was nearly six hours with a drunk group ahead, however when I mentioned the slow play and the drunks to the chap in the shop, he gave me a free round!

The recent hot weather has caused problems on the course, the greens however had been looked after.

Some good holes, with and heart attack hill on the 18th a nice way to finish a nice round of hill walking.

I played here last Sunday. Scheduled tee time 10.56. We eventually got away at 11.45. Took around five and a half hours to get around. However, perversely, we weren't waiting around too often since it seemed everyone was in four-balls and the pace of play was very even, just slow.

That aside, I really enjoyed the course and wouldn't say there were any bad holes. The driving range did have a few pikeys on there messing about but I suppose I'd rather they were on the range without tops on playing Happy Gilmore shots than out on the course.

Greens and fairways in good nick despite the traffic this course sees and the staff seemed friendly enough. The tea hut on the par 3 fifth was very welcome – since there’s a real bottle neck on that hole. On the whole all the groups waiting with us on the 1st tee (over 8 four-balls) accepted this would be a slow round and just got on with their own game.

I will play this course again but it won’t become my regular track.

This is my local course and I love it but wouldn't tee off after 7am on a Sat or Sun! I've seen the queues but my pals & I won't put ourselves through it. Birdied the first once in 200 rounds & the course is in a lovely part of the world. Woodpeckers live by the 4th and early in the morning when the dew glistens off the grass it's the nuts and there isn't anywhere else I'd rather be. Greens can be inconsistant but never ropey. Tea & a Cheeseburger half way round... golf isn't it?
