Played the course for the first time on Sunday afternoon; don't be put off by the poor clubhouse, the course more than makes up for it.

The course was generally in excellent condition, particularly the tee boxes and greens which were well manicured and maintained. The bunkers could have done with some attention though.

The course is interesting and challenging without being too penal on the odd wayward tee shot; having said that, a few more strategically placed fairway bunkers would keep a decent golfer thinking a bit more about position off the tee.

The first 5 holes are perfectly acceptable but the next 13 holes are much more interesting, threading their way through wooded areas and tree lined fairways.

Overall, a very good course that I will certainly be playing again soon.

Would have scored the course an 8 but the clubhouse drags it down to a 6. But who remembers the clubhouse!!

Played this course in November. A very nice course, in good surroundings.

A good test of golf, with a good variety of holes. The greens were in excellent condition and very undulating.

The clubhouse need some work done it though!!

Having just played Tylney Park for the first time (on a beautiful sunny June day) I have to say it is overall a fine course. Not a course for the beginner in any shape or form – and I don’t think it is intended to be. The fairways are quite narrow and the rough is rough! This punishes (as I found to my cost) those who are anything less than accurate with their strokes. There are a abundance of mature trees which add to the hazards but also add a lot to the ambiance of the course too.

The greens were in superb condition as were the tees, fairways etc. My only negative comment is that the bunkers could do with some fresh sand. I would also have liked to see those little ‘map’ signs on each tee and a few more ball cleaners.

Wonderful surroundings within a parkland setting make for a great days golf – recommended.

The new rotherwick course at tylney park golf course has been what the wonderfull setting and surroundings have been crying out for years. Tylney park golf club that was previously reknowned for a course with a great setting but condition and set up of the tees and greens really let the course down. However the new layout and design has finally brought the golf clubs potential to life. A definate must play at 7000 yards and with undulating greens a test for every golfer. only one negative which is the clubhouse which is in desperate need for renovation.

Very poor indeed. This course has one of the best settings in the area, it is a shame that the course condition is nowhere near the level you would expect for a green fee of £43 per person.

Specifically, the tees where shabby, the greens were very poor (the practice putting green was shocking) and the bunkers were unraked and had the wrong sand in them. The clubhouse itself looks very run down and does not do the club any justice. Finally they should mend the broken signage at the main entrance.

I played this course several years ago and I seem to remember it in much better condition. I had decided to take some clients of mine to this course and I had to apologise to them for the state of it.

If you have money for green fees I would suggest you look elsewhere to spend it.

It has recently undergone a massive redesign. The course is now longer and more taxing, but still very plesent to play. The fairways are wide, but the placement of the mature trees make you really think your way round the course. The greens are now fantastic. I strongly recommend this course, although it looks like its going to be a bit pricy.

The course itself has nothing fundementally wrong with it. However, I found the condition of the greens to be very poor indeed, with numerous grassless patches and uneven cutting on the majority. Perhaps I was just unlucky and visited at the wrong time of year.

An atractive parkland course set in what was once a large estate, one of it's main features are the many majestic & mature trees.

You don't need to hit the ball a long way but you do need to be accurate! These trees along with the small greens will punish any wayward shots

It provides golfers with a good test of their skills without being too daunting.

The 16th is the hardest hole on the course, a par 4. You drive off accross a small valley to the rise the other side The second shot is then down the narrow fairway, (ball above the feet) and trees all down the left hand side. The narrow approach to the green which is tucked up tight to the end of the tree line, is easier from the right, but that's up a bank and too far right you'll be in the rough. No one said it should be easy !

Well worth a visit
