Tynemouth Golf Club Ltd Player Reports
John Patterson (England) 31/10/06
We played Tynemouth on 26/10/06 for the bargain price of £11.25 using a 2 fore 1 voucher. I was amazed that we played at all considering the amount of rain it had put down for the previous 12 hours, but the course was open and surprisingly dry. It still managed to blow as much of a gale as we are used to on the Fylde coast though! It is a decent track; no great length, but in good condition for the time of year. Beware the "ravine" which you first encounter at the 2nd, but can't see from the tee. It comes into play later too. The staff and members were friendly and helpful, but we didn't go into the clubhouse afterwards, so can't comment on it. A word of advice if you are using Sat Nav to find it. Spital Dene doesn't exist in Tynemouth, nor King Edward Road, which the club is on. Try entering North Shields as your town instead as there's a road sign for it near the club entrance.
