As an ex-member, I'm gutted to say the place has just got better. The work that has been put in the last 3 years has paid off.
The fairways are tighter, the greens are smoother, and the view from the clubhouse is still great.
Play it and you'll see what I mean

Have played Tyrrells Wood on a number of occasions. Great woodland course always kept in good condition. Only two par 5s (7th and 12th), but both are long and challenging. The 7th in my view is the signature hole with an elevated tee needing a good opening shot. Greens are excellent - there is usually a right and wrong side to approach them from. A bit hilly in parts, particularly 1st green to 2nd tee and 10th green to 11th tee. Great course, though. I always love playing it.

I was privileged to play here on a society day a couple of years ago and can't recommend it highly enough. This is a wonderfully kept course, in a beautiful fold of the North Downs, so the walking can be a little up and down. If it wasn't a golf course, it would be an arboretum. There are various wild orchids as well as a fantastic variety of trees... The club house is old-established and very comfortable, with a lovely outlook. Interesting contraption ('mirror on a stick') to see when the first green is clear... Great day out if you're an amateur botanist, or just love the English countryside. Nothing would spoil THIS walk.... not even the golf !!
