Well, what can I say. As a novice this course was quite an eye-opener. Long, wide forgiving fairways, challenging landscaping, some well placed water features. In all a truly spectacular round of golf is just waiting to be had. This occassion was my 1st four-ball and being the first of our 4 to tee off I think that stage fright got the better of me. Fellow golfers now have the added feature of a 20yd furrow leading immediately from the tee to contend with. By about the 7th the nerves had calmed and I had settled into delivering some amazing slices, the sort of trajectories that RAF pilots are envious of. There can't be too many players that can drive for the Devils Hat and end up holding a conversation with players coming back the other way whilst looking for their ball.
In all a great afternoon of golf, will do it again soon.

Played on 08 July 2005 on a freebie courtesy of a friend of my brothers. Good course, well laid out with good signage, some cracking holes especially the 16th & 17th which in my view should be the 1st & 18th as they both end and start at the magnificant hotel but the clubhouse which is excellent is situated away from here so a shame. Greens were in top notch condition, some well place fairways make for a good test to any

Played this course on Sat 23 October 2004, as part of a weekend golf trip, & although it poured with rain all the way round the course was still in fabulous condition although some standing water was evident on some of the greens & in places on the fairways. Fairly undulating with distance from several greens to next tee, but the course is generally well laid out and fair, with good direction signs to the next hole, the clubhouse is good with excellent bar menu showers & changing facilities, drink prices are quite steep but nothing compared to the main hotel bar where a gin & tonic and a Jack Daniels & coke came to over £10 (singles not doubles). Overall as part of a weekend break deal including the hotel this is worth considering. Stratford is very close by and good for a night out without seeing trouble with good pubs & bars.

My wife and I played in August after the recent heavy rains. The course is well drained and the greens are fast and true. The greens are quite hard to read. The bunkers are positioned well and in great condition. The golf holes were varied with the last four the most scenic. My wife found the course long as the ladies 'T's were only a few yards in front of the mens. The course is fairly undulating but the Buggy's were quite expensive (£25). All in all a very nice Golf Course. The Clubhouse is new and clean but the prices are steep, eespecially the non-alchoholic (£2.50 for a pint of Lime and Lemonade !!!). The Golf Course is still in the Corporate mode but trying to entice the general public in as it was a very quiet course. No surprise with the prices they charge !!

Played twenty seven holes in mid July (the only day it did'nt rain), the course was immaculate, well manicured fairways and quick greens. Bunkers were clevely placed and in top shape, good practice facilities too. Make a date to play it.

A great course. Not overly long, but makes you think about your shots, rather than just hammering away with your driver.
Superbly maintained, stunning location and well worth a visit.
