I was playing this for the first time and absolutely loved it. There's little dramatic or showy about it: it's just a beautiful, subtle course in first-class condition. There were so many gorgeous holes, many framed by trees around the greens, and virtually all asking something different. The greens were perfect ...and with some tricky reads.
Off-course, everyone we met was very friendly and the lunch was outstanding. I could very happily play this over and over again.

West Hill is a fabulous little course which is typical of Surrey heathland courses. Plenty of heather and gorse to get over and some tough holes! Well worth a visit. However, I thought the clubhouse was a bit grotty especially the showers/toilets but the course itself is excellent. This course made it into number 95 in the top 100 courses in Britain. Not sure that I would have rated it that highly but you can see why some people do. Play in the winter and green fees drop steeply. Recommended.

A little gem. Very good condition and a nice layout. Every hole offers its own unique challenge and many shots require careful thought. Accuracy off the tee is paramount here and it helps if you can shape the ball both ways. If you've not played here before be sure to buy a course planner as heather and hazards are sometimes blind from the tee. A good day out and a test of anyone's shot repertoire. At £60 for the day it is well worth a visit.

I agree with Gordon Ross, it is a pretty well laid out course. However there is a small item on the course which i found strange, one is that when arriving on some greens people teeing off from another tee are a bit too close for confort. I palyed the course yesturday and it was raining from start to finish but the course still looked in good shape. Its not a long course but it is a little tricky especially if you land in the heather. I would recommend to play it if you have a few quid in your pocket. I wont play it again myself as i found the green fees too steep for a mid week game, 42.50 and i dont think the course is worth that price especially since its not a long course.

If you are a fan of the the traditional Surrey heathland course, then this one is a belter. Not the longest but a beautifully laid out course all the same. If it was anywhere else in the country, people would rave about it but there are so many good course in this part of the world it seldom gets a mention. Has a great half way hut at the 13th. Always in fabulous condition. Probably my favourite inland course in the British Isles (I've played my fair share as well.)
