This place grows on you. You do need to keep your wits about you in case of really wild drives from adjacent fairways. However, the greens are always in good nick and are not easy targets to hit. A number of them are of the "upturned saucer" variety so good approach play is a must. It's short by modern standards and you don't need to use your driver to score. In fact if you aren't getting on with the big dog then leave it in your bag around here. You will aslo find a warm welcome from the staff and members alike. Well worth a visit.

I have played this course many times both as a green fee player and now as a member. As regards Nathan Poole's comments. Yes it is true the 6th tee shot is across the 5th green and the 9th crosses the 8th fairway and while unusual it is not unique and I have never known this to cause problems even on the busiest of days (simple courtesy and giving way to the left seems to work!) Fairways and Greens are always tip top and the welcome second to none. If you play using a 2-Fore-1 voucher this course is excellent value (see club webite for green fees). Many mature trees and good use of water and bunkering make the course a good challenge to better golfers but it is forgiving enough that higher handicappers can score well also.

I've played here a few times using a 2FORE1 voucher(£10 each). They can get you in at short notice midweek & i've never been held up during the round as it's always been quiet.Very flat course & normally in reasonable condition .Also quite a remote location .I quite like the layout (some may differ)as essentially the holes go around the outside & then come back into the middle at the end.Not a brilliant course but then not bad either. But for £10 for a trouble free round it's well worth a knock.

Firstly I was charged £30 not the advertised £25 by a very abrupt member of staff who was obviously not interested in the life time value of customers. The course design is at best boringly average, at worst ridiculous. I have heard the comment that the course is challenging, this merely refers to the fact that the holes have been crammed in to too small a space. Criss-crossing fairways is a new one on me and was greated with much amusement by myself and the other players in our group. The greens and fairways were in good condition so no complaints on that side but it was just rather dull for my liking and given the poor service and high price will definitely not be coming back!

Played the course whilst still on mats, and also in a 'hurricane'. Still the course was in good nick, and the greens weren't the best but certainly were not the worst I've played on. The only problem I found was the 'incoming' attacks from other balls, as the course layout could be better.
