We went to Tidbury Green hoping to find a nice little nine hole course to have a knock about on for a bit of practice instead of a session on the driving range... what a shocker it turned out to be. Firstly the tees are in appaling condition, and although most of the greens are fairly well kept, you need to have a strong putting stroke as they are far too soft and slow. The course offers a confusing layout,on some holes (namely the 2nd) the tee marker indicates Par 3, the card indicates Par 4, the S.I.I are a joke and the yardages a simply way off.

The first 5 holes hold up ok in golfing terms, with the Par 3 4th being somewhat challenging requiring a straight tee shot. But once you make your way across the car park, past the caravan and onto the "island" tee everything goes seriously downhill. The 6th tee is severley over-grown with a temporary green, the 7th hole is at the back of the driving range without an sort of fencing and well within 5 iron distance for a decent player, play this hole at your own risk... (it even says this on the scorecard!) as it's difficult to identify your ball from the white range balls scattered across the green and raining down on you as you attempt to knock your putt in. The full length tee for the 8th is even further down the range (probably within 8 iron distance)... your only other option is to play from the Ladies tee. This leaves you with a so called "Par 5" which i nearly drove the green on.

I finished 5 under gross after only 9 holes, the course offers no challenge and is generally appalling, not worth £5 let alone the £9 we had to pay to play these 9 "holes". Avoid.

I have been a menber here for the last two years and have to agree with some of the earlier comments regarding the condition of some of the tee boxes and greens. However, this year the club has spent a lot of time improving both the boxes and greens relaying the 6th green and remaking the boxes on the 1st and 2nd hole. I feel the course offers good value for money and being so tight with so many hazards it does help to improve your game. I find the staff helpful and polite.

the resturant at tggc is spectacular with fantastic catering. Extreamly helpful and kind staff which supported and advised me with the booking of function room at tggc i would just like to give a big thankyou to all the staff involved

Nice course, Greens very well kept. However I don't think its worth the fees £9 for 9 holes.

You get seriously lost between the 5th & 6th (no signs at all & 4 minute walk if went in right direction)

As mentioned before Tee boxes are over grown, muddy etc. Looks more like a pub with a golf course than the other way round.

The MAJOR problem is playing the 7th, which is at the back of the range and it makes interesting putting when balls are coming in from long practice drives!!! Make sure you have insurance!! Friends trolley got smack by one just as he was putting out - could have done some serious damage.

I have not yet played Golf at T.G.G.C But I dine regular in the resently referbished resturant.

The food is very good value for money and superbley cooked.

All of the staff are polite, helpful and friendly.

A Family member had her wedding reception there the venue was fantastic a wonderful day to remember

Despite the conditions being quite muddy and trolleys not allowed I enjoyed playing this 9 hole course. Greens were in good condition but some of the tee boxes were very muddy and chewed up. Could probably do with better signs as on a couple of holes I found it quite confusing finding the next.

I am a back to the game of golf after a fifteen year break (yes - kids). I played Tidbury on the 18th Feb 06 and found the greens in amazingly good condition. The fairways were good and although a couple of the fairways did have some water it wasn't drastic and I have played on worse courses. The facilities could do with upgrading, i.e. a golf shop, but the general concencous on the day by our four ball is that it was well worth the £6 to play the nine holes.

I have played at Tidbury many times as it is a local club and very reasonably priced at just £6 for 9 holes.

Tidbury is a short and flat course which has many challenging features such as bunkers and water hazards including the 6th which starts from a small island in the middle of a fishing lake, lost a few balls in that lake and scared a few fisherman!

On the downside Tidbury is very wet and even in May there are days when we could not use our trolleys, also some of the greens are in a poor state. The facilities are basic as they have no golf shop (a real missed opportunity) and the bar and restaurant is pretty tatty.

Overall Tidbury is worth a visit especially at just £6 for 9 holes, but has the potential to be much better!

played this course yesterday i'm only a beginer and found the course quite good greens let it down a bit quite bumpy but overall a good course take a few extra balls for the 6th where you tee off from the center of the lake it's further than you think had an enjoyable cheap round and probably will play again

TGGC is fine if you want to have a cheap 9 holes of golf in a spare 90 minutes. The holes are fairly interesting although, on the whole, on the short side. The course is let down by very poor tees and some poorly maintained greens.

For the price (£6 for 9 holes and £9 for 18 holes) it is an enjoyable round for the beginner / improver.

I have played TGGC on five occasions now and find it an interestering course. I found it excellent for the average golfer like myself. Some holes are quite challenging due to the fairways being narrow. The sixth is a superp little par 3 where the Tee is in the middle of the fishing lake, which is reached by a bridge. To summerise: Interesting but not too challenging!

TGGC is actually a 9 hole course. It plays well with some very inventive holes. The fairways are usually in good condition, but the tees are poor and the rough is very rough. Carry a few spare balls unless you're very accurate!
