after to day the course will be closed for the next four year,s. This will allow for extensive work to be carried out on the front nine hole,s of the course, which are contaminated with arsnic and other element,s. I have played at the course for the last ten years and have enjoyed every game that i have played . When the work has been compleated i shall return there

This is a fairly short course, which does look like your typical municipal course. The good thing with this course is that it is quite varied. The holes offer some very different challenges. It could be maintained a lot better, but it is certainly a good course to play on, because you will not do as well as you think you might if playing on it for the first time. The great burger van on the 12th is a plus. The horrible "stream" which carries a grey watery substance is not. A good challenge though to try and avoid it!

I have played this course many times in recent months.

A bit of advice for players submitting cards for handicap purposes. DON'T DO IT!

St. Michaels is a short course and I generally average scores in the low 80's =12 handicap.

I play a lot of other local courses and usually average scores in the low 90's = 20 handicap.

I don't think it is a particularly easy course but your scores from here may give your handicap secretary licencse to have a field day.

I still enjoy a round here and for £7.50 cant complain.

The Pro shop isn't bad for a Muni,and staff are polite and helpful.

A nice course with plenty of opportunities to recover from wayward shots. Booking ahead is not always essential, playung later in the day usually ensures a speedy round of 3 hours or so. The butty van is perfectly situated at the 12th green just when you are ready for a double bacon and sauasage barm. And as for the river of jiz... hit over it... for your own good! :)

do you all remember the film, "the creature from the black lagoon", yeah well that guy was a poor unfortunate golfer who ventured into the stream to look for his ball.very corrosive indeed and really not worth the price of a golf ball.that aside,a nice municipal and worth a visit even if's it's only for the butty van.

Man alive! Ithought they were joking about the ball going in the water,trust me if it goes in the water just leave it there.Other than that a real nice course though a bit cramped.

The 18th has been changed from a very difficult Par 4 to a straightforward Par 3 of about 150 yards. This looks like it will be a permanent arrangement. The course is in excellent condition at the moment.

This is the second time I have played this course, the trolley ban had been lifted, but only 16 holes were open for play ( 13 and 14 closed).

In general the course was in good condition. The butty van on the end of the 12th is run by a really good bloke, the bacon & sausage barms are the DB's. As usual if your ball goes in the water LEAVE IT THERE. Staff in the shop are really helpful and if the weather is dry you should have a good day out.

Trolley ban in force and only the front 9 holes currently in use with winter tees and greens. Fairways in good condition but avoid the stream like the plague and if you are unlucky enough to have a ball go in leave it there. Wind was blowing from the direction of the chemical factory and the stench was unbelievable

Considering that this course was built on a municipal tip, it is surprisingly good.

It is reasonably challenging,a good length, and a very reasonable cost to play.

TIP - DO NOT venture into the BLUE streams, they are so corrosive that they will eat your clubs and dissolve your ball - apart from that though, ENJOY !!
