Windlemere Golf Club Player Reports
Phil Gregor - Heathrow Airport Golf Association (Englan) 07/06/06
With a price tag of £11.00 for nine holes Windlemere can get very busy at times and because it is a pay and play course you often get people play there for a bit of fun and cannot play golf , so expect a wait at the tee's.
This put a side Windlemere is in excellent condition at the moment and the green's are as fast as any top notch course.
Good course for the novice and a good practice course for the experienced player's.

already being a member of a local course nearby, i often play this 9 holer for fun, but actually it,s one of the best 9 hole course i,ve played.
if they is a little moan !! and it is little, there is no 150 yds markers !, as i,m useless at guessing the distance to the green it,s abit annoying but then again it,s good pratice !!

I've heard a lot of positive comments about this course. After playing, I can only confirm the good things I have heard about Windermere. It has spectacular scenery with marvellous views of the lake. The 9th hole is a challenge for even the most accomplished golfer.

Have played Windlemere on many occasions. Can get very waterlogged in spring/winter, and the greens this summer were in very poor condition (dry and cracked). However under normal conditions it is very nice little course - very flaterring, as all holes are easily reached with drive and short iron (expect 9th). Can get very busy. If you in the mood for a quick 9 holes, you can do far worse! For a "proper" round, go to Pine Ridge, Windlemere's sister course!

This is a nice 9 hole course that is just about long enough for mid handicap golfers and above .The Par 4 holes reqiure a good wood shot off the tee followed by a short iron . The ground is a bit wet at present and the long fairway grass will add to your score .My only concern is the cost at £ 1.00 per hole during the week its expensive even for Surrey and a course of under 3000 yds .
