Played here March 05 on a cold but bright day, complete with a few snow showers.
Course was in good condition for the time of year, no winter greens or trolley ban, but we did have to tee off from mats, some of which had seen better days.
Overall I enjoyed the course - it isn't the most interesting of tracks to go round, with no water or hugely threatening bunkers. Several of the holes play up and down a large valley, offering both elevated tees and blind shots. Greens were of a good standard, although I putted like a muppet and found them hard to read. As mentioned below the 15th was a monster, a par 5 with a big dog-leg to the right. Most other holes were reasonably straight and would give encouragement to the big hitters.
Would definitely return if in the area again

I cant disagree more, Tim, so much in fact that I think that your talking about the wrong course! I have visted Windwhistle numerus times, and each time I go I get a warm welcome at the bar. I setle down with a warm Irrish coffee and a breakfast bap, and look out on to the 14th green and sommerset from the leasure of my chair. Then when I have finished I go down to the pro shop (Its a completely refurbisted room!) pick up a packet of golf balls (Or five!!). Then is off for a stress free game (or something like that) The course is very well eastablished and has alot to show for it. The views are truely amazing. The course is managed by a very nice group of green keeper who always wait if you about to tee off insted of carying on cutting. If you dont like this course then pls tell me where`s better.

Out of the courses in the area this is one of the least memorable experiences. A course which requires little thought. Majority of the holes are straight, stand on the tee and drive, 15th is a challenging par 5 dog-leg, brave, big hitters can cut the corner, apart from this and the recent change to the 8th improving its challeng the course is to repetetive.
Does do a twilight rate of half-price green fees in the afternoon, time varies, throughout the year.
