Having walked alongside the course a couple of times (it is criss-crossed by public footpaths), I'm always surprised at how quiet it is. I turned up to play the nine hole course (I have no handicap certificate, but am thinking of joining) at 5.30pm on Saturday. The pro shop was closed.
It's a beautiful looking course, with top quality fast greens (that nice reverby thud you get when you chip on to the green) and, as stated in the other reviews, probably the best in the area. I simply can't understand why it's so deserted! Whilst quite a testing heathland course, not as scenic as many undulating parkland courses. Although it's tucked away, you can still hear the buzz of A12 in the distance, which is a shame.

No trip to Suffolk is complete without a round at Woodbridge. In my opinion the best golf course in the area. The course, like all golfing gems, is tucked away 'behind' the town, but once found you will never forget its location.
The course itself is beautifully presented, quite natural, with quality, fast greens. On the occasions I have played there, I always got the impression that we were very secluded and had the course to ourselves.
Take your best swing with you as, although not long, Woodbridge has plenty of character, and will find different ways of punishing errant driving or tentative putting.
Go in May when the whole place is in bloom.
You will go back again and again....I do...
P.S. Yardage chart is available...I have one from
1992!!!

I've played several different courses in England and Scotland. Woodbridge is not a long course, although there are a couple very long holes, accuracy is an absolute must! A really beautiful course with very true and very fast greens. I wish I lived close enough to be a member!
