I have played the course a few times this year and have always found it enjoyable, however, played it yesterday and was disappointed. The Eigar which was formally the start of the back nine is now the first hole which means that the road hole which I think is the signature hole of this course, is now the 9th when it used to be one of the best and most scenic holes you could wish to end your round with. Hopefully, this is just a temporary measure and the course will return to normal soon.

The biggest disappointment of the day was experienced in the clubhouse, the welcome given by the bar staff has never been regarded as warm but today was something else. No hot meals available only sandwiches and even ordering these seemed as though we were asking for the world, maybe because there was two societies playing the course the kitchen may have been working hard catering for those - if so this could have been explained to us normal green fee payers in a warm and friendly manner.

This is one of my favorite courses so i will give it another try next year, but for warm friendly service and a nice meal after the round we will definitely give the clubhouse a miss and drive down the road to the pub!

A wonderful course, with plenty of challenging holes. It is not a very long course. It used to be a nine hole course but the built an extra nine holes a while ago. Signiture holed have to ne the 10th (The Eiger) and the 18th (The Road Hole). The eiger, i think, is one of the most difficult holes in the country, if not the world.

It is only 138 yards from the yellows but it also well over 100 yaeds upwards as well. If you Do not make the greem, your ball is likely to roll back down the hill and past the tee area. The 18th is the opposite to the 10th (185 yards forwards down but a long way down with a beautiful view from the tee, The first time i played this hole i reached the green with an 8 iron). it gets it's name form the fact that at the bottom or the hill, there is a road between the bunkers and the green. aside from this there are many wonderful holes like the 5th (Hearts Delight - players are invited to make a donation to the captains charity if they hit their tee shot out of bounds on the right), the 7th (Beeches - a lovely hole with two beache trees between the tee and the fairway) and the 11th (Ridge - proof that a par 4 does not have to be long lo be difficult). It is not a cheap course (Nearly £20 during the week) but it is well worth the money. The course also has a driving range and a putting green and a decient sized bar. It may also be tricky to find (turn off the A20 at West Kingsdown - By Brands Hatch - at the Portabellow Inn, it is sign posted), past some big houses. The road does get quite narrow and windy so don't think you have taken a wrong turning. You will eventually see the course on your right, shortly followed by the clubhouse on your left. If you are looking for a challenging, high quality course (A few years ago they got a company in to do a few of their greens to USPGA standard and asked their green staff to do some other greens as well as they could as comparison. The green staffs greens were much better than the USPGA greens), without the cost of something like Princes, then this is the course for you.

A wonderful Golf course in excellent condition an absolute pleasure to play. The views are superb and the fairways and greens are very well kept.

Staff and facilities are first class and I would recommend this course to anyone.

Had fun on this course, bring your climbing boots for the 10th! The 18th is one of the best holes to play in the south east. Beware members not letting a 2 ball through - very poor.

Played over the weekend. First impressions of the course were very good. However the quality of the greens and tee's were very poor. Mat's were still being used on most holes, even though it was the hottest day of the year and the ground was solid.

Every green was covered with bald patches, which is disappointing for a £30 green fee.

Also the attidude of the members is something that I found poor. Although guests can only tee off after 1 at the weekend, we were still expected to allow a competition through even though we were waiting on every hole. There was also several other outdated comments and views which I will not go into.

I don't think I will return, I hope others have a better time.

Played the course this week for the first time , the condition of the course was excellent. The 10th hole is definately a challenge but the highlight of the course is the 18th - absolutely suberb. The view of the course and across the valley is breathtaking when standing on the 18th tee, a great hole to finish a round with. Found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, my one only minor gripe was the lack of signs directing you to the next tee and no course guides available - but that would certainly not deter me from playing this lovely course again!!
