I played Crane Valley with a society recently and enjoyed it we had a pleasant day out and a nice meal all for a reasonable price the only adverse comment would be very slow greens, and ball and time losing rough I lost two balls no more than 3 feet off the fairway, thats silly, no I didnt play a provisional I knew I would find them !!!! and I had marked them.
After saying that I will be going back as it was well worth the price we payed, and the staff were exellent.

I am a member at Crane Valley and I think the Valley Course is excellent. I tend not to go on the Woodland Course though, only with my friend whose a beginner. The junior section is spectacular and it gives you a chance to get out onto the course and get playing, even in the winter.

Played Crane Valley on Monday 30 June, 2003 (group of eight, from 6 to 12 handicaps). A good course, despite still having a 'new' look and feel about it (it was opened in 1992), with an excellent clubhouse. It is fairly open, so is forgiving to play, with only small pockets of deep rough. The protection is mainly offered by the water hazards...there are a few nice holes incorporating the lake and the River Crane. The greens were also of a good standard, if a tad slow. Well worth a look if you are in the area.

A challenging course with excellent facilities. Well worth a visit. My round coincided with a tournament so the fairways had been narrowed by leaving the semi-rough four inches long. This combined with recent heavy rain meant that you had to be very straight. Get in to the rough and it was very difficult to find your ball and then get it out. I understand that the semi-rough is normally cut right down which will make it a fairer challenge for the average player, will speed up play and result in fewer lost balls. The green fees are very reasonable. My visit was under the 2Fore1 discount scheme which made it even better value for money.
