As Sally says can be very busy. NOT WRONG. 2 hours 45 mins front nine a month ago. Nice course though so went back to try again...2 hours for seven holes on the back nine - walked off for the second time in succession (no societys present).

would be a nice day out, course is well kept, greens nice, but be warned about extremely slow play (mon - fri included). Sadly would not go back. badly managed T times and no rangers.

Also, beware, website quotes £28.00 green fees, but with £5.00 discount voucher (from the course itself) we were charged £25.00 on both occasions!!!!

Played here recently after a night of torrential rain.

As said previously there are a lot of blind drives on this course and a stroke saver would be advisable, I saved the money and played with a member!

A relative short course the back nine being slightly more open and less mature, a later addition perhaps? The Island tee on the 10th is unusual.

There are a lot of irrigation channels which at this time of year are not clearly visible and it would be very easy to twist an ankle in one of them. That said they certainly work as there was nearly no casual water after the heavy rain prior to our round.

Overall a very pleasant course.

Played here at the end of September 2004, making sure I had a stroke saver to hand after seeing previous comments. The course was in fairly good condition, but you really need to have played here a few times to know where you are going. I found the course spoilt a little by having too many short par 4's. This meant, too often, you hit a short iron to gap and then, hopefully another short iron to the green. I found I was out of postion too many times. Having said that there are many nice holes, the 10th is a hole where you drive off from an island tee!! very novel, and the par 5's are quite interesting. I will certainly be looking to return.

I played this course with two friends this weekend 25th April 2004. Being disappointed with the lack of course map on the socrecard, and getting almost lost on other courses with this same philosophy, I splurged on the course guide, at only £2.95, a nice souveneir of the day and a well put together guide for the beginner.

We all felt that the course was excellent. The greens were well maintained and the general feel of the course was one of excellence, with all aspects covered from the matching bins and tee boxes, to high standards of course preparation and a challenging round.

As beginners we are taking this year to play as many different courses as possible, with a view to settling on one for potential membership, and this one is certainly currently top of the list.

With green fees at £30, it is not the cheapest I have played, but it certainly is by far and away the best value, by some considerable way.

I must agree with Peter Guy's comments. From the first tee, and on many of the subsequent ones, it was all a bit of a mystery as to what lay ahead! Otherwise a nice course though, with an excellent clubhouse, good food and very friendly staff.

Having played your course for the first time on Friday 18/4 I must say how I and my playing partners enjoyed the quality of the course and the beautiful surroundings & wildlife,(helped I should add by perfect weather conditions). However the major downside was the total absence of any form of course guide,i.e. no course map on the score card & no hole guide at the tees. Had it not been for a fourball immediately in front of us who obviously knew the course we would have been totally lost on most holes. So whilst I congratulate you on most aspects of the club please, please consider the basic requirements of the newcomer.

As a member for 6 years I have witnessed the substantial improvement of this delightful course. Currently undergoing further improvement to provide additional water hazards on the 3rd and 4th holes. Despite playing fairly short (due to several doglegs that can be carried) Slinfold provides a good test of golf and provides many hazards to punish wayward shots. The par three 7th is a particular test. From the back tees a 4/5 iron is required to an elevated green surrounded by well placed bunkers. A friendly club which looks after its members yet, is open to green fees. The course is often busy at weekends but is seldom overplayed thus ensuring the tees, fairways and greens are in pristine condidion. Recommended.

Played slinfold sat 21st sept and it really is a lovely well maintained course

Greens were spot on fairways were cut a bit tight but that didnt cause us any great problems

You have to plot your way round and leaving the driver at home will be to your advantage as its not long but with quite a few doglegs

The club house was homely and friendly with abig sky sports screen

Considering it was the 1st time we had been here we played very well(3 under and 1 under)but if youre not on your game expect trouble

Slinfold is a challenge, a very interesting course with plenty of water. It's not very long but accuracy is vital.

Wander away from the fairways at your peril.

The par 3 7th is a great hole, pause for a moment on the woodland tee to listen. Teeing across the lake on the 10th will test your nerve.

Good clubhouse, nice people.

As a member, I must say that this course has improved beyond all recognition in the last year or so. I defy anyone to find it "easy" - there are a lot of hazards and dog legs and the greens are always a challenge (mainly due to some inconsistency!). Sadly, due to being on clay, it is prone to being pretty soggy at times in winter but there are improvements all the time (providing you stay on the fairways). Can be very busy if you pick the wrong moment.

A good course but short and is usually pretty busy. Trees tend to be the greatest hazard with many situated in fairways to lengthen the holes. The course is well maintained but does not drain well in the winter. Excellent clubhouse facilities but newly situated proshop is rather small. Staff are friendly.
