The Bulbury Woods Club Player Reports

A nice course with some great testing holes. A poor tee shot on the 8th and 9th can all destroy anyones card. The food and drink served by Ian and his wife is superb.
Neil Dixon (England) 26/11/03
played this last week and was a bit disappointed having read some of the other reviews. Greens were OK but the layout is a bit bland with only good use of trees and ditches making up for an otherwise pretty up & down course. Not long either. Also they had 1 temp green in play which wasnt indicated when we arrived, most other holes had temps ready so I would guess they come into play a lot when wet.
There were 3 or 4 holes where for the 1st timer a good tee shot could be badly punsished even though it looked to be in 'position A'.
Only saving grace was a birdie at the last that halved the match

I played this course on 15 June in scorching hot weather and thoroughly enjoyed it. Its fairly straight, with a couple of interesting dog leg holes that makes it a challenging course for beginners.
Food and beer served afterwards were also good

I visited this course in June 2001, despite having read the many comment mentioned above.....How wrong they are. I found this to be one of the most enjoyable courses i've ever played. No two holes are the same, offering a variety of challenges, and the greens were superb, and very testing. At the club house, the staff were very friendly, and helpful. Food was also very good. All in all we had a great day, and will definately return.

Played 03/07/01. Very good course for all levels of golfer. Found staff very helpfull and friendly. Green staff (including owner) out all day tending the greens and fairways, but did not get in the way of golfers. Well worth playing if down in that neck of the woods.

With 3 friends I played this course on 28 Aug - somewhat apprehensively in view of earlier
comments. In the event we found it to be a first class club with excellent facilities and we were
welcomed and helped by everyone we came into contact with. Fairways, greens and bunkers were all
well maintained and in impeccable condition. There is good variation in the holes requiring the
player to think what to use off the tee. I have no hesitation in recommending this club, and playing
on 2 for 1 vouchers, and having travelled 50 miles to play it, I can honestly say we had a great day
out and excellent value. Go for it....
