Obviously due to the weather which was poor the day before the course would have been wet anyway. But I thought that all the drainage work that has gone on to improve this would of changed the state of the course. Well it had not. £16 on a weekend where there was 4 or 5 greens out of action and the state of the greens and fairways disappointing. It is a good course with challenging holes and pleasent views and it is such a shame that this is spoilt by low maintenance and poor attention to the course.

there has been a lot of rain i was amazed that the golf buggys was aloud out witch have cut the course fairways up.there are some challengeing holes on this course with plenty of bunkers witch i really liked but most were full of water due to worst summer we have had.overall this would be a great course if we had a dry summer its very well designed.

Played the course for the first time last week and will definately return.
The proshop and bar staff are very friendly and we tee'd off on time.
The course plays reasonably short but keeping it straight is a must due to thick rough and trees.
The layout is interesting with a variety of lies due to its hilly setting. The only minus was the fairway grass was quite long probably due to recent heavy rains.
The greens are also tricky with many contours.
Overall we were impressed and for £15 it is a bargain.

Played this course about 8 years ago and really looked forward to going back, heard some nasty rumours but went anyway and was severly dissapointed. Yes £10.50 is a cheap green fee but would not return if I was paid to, the course is in a shocking state of disrepair with shaggy, unlevel tee boxes and fairway turf longer than deep rough on most courses, the intro of buggies has rendered some of the course unplayable and the greens were lumpy and generally bad. I have played many so called 'cheap muni' courses up and down the country and have never came across one that is so badly looked after. This is a real shame as the layout and location of this course is fantastic with many elevated tees with veiws all over north staffs and could be a real challange for all handicaps but I cannot see many golfers returning after even a couple of holes.

I have just played this course along with 10 of my mates.I can only describe the course as excellant. It is very well tended, the greens are in great condition and the fairways and rough are very well kept. The course is an excellant test of golf and has some interesting holes. My only critisms are that at times the play was a bit slow and that some of the bunkers could do with a little more sand but what value for money.

Nice course, bargain for nine quid on weekdays, i`m a beginner, and found this course not too hard and not too easy. well maintained...did it in 110, which i was well chuffed about, considering i`ve only been playing a month....well worth a visit.
