Very good course, long and challenging for a mid-high handicapper. Greens were big and true, Tee's in Ok nick, fairways good. Its tree lined so wayward drives were invariably punished. a few becks cross fairways usually causing a bit of head scratching for me (try to carry or lay up?)The 566yard (yellow) 18th could be a killer in to the wind, we were lucky, but still made a hash of it!
Good club house, pro shop and staff. Excellent bacon rolls!

Good club for only 15 years old. However, when it expanded to 27 holes, it lost it's character it once had.A good test, but mostly because the design was restricted due to land space.Once the trees grow, it will be bordering on the ridiculous, ie, no rough off fairways, just trees.
The greens I must say, are very good, always good to putt on.The owner has done a good job with what he had land wise, the club house is very welcoming, but this course may be best seen as a very good muni, as visitors seem to be a priority at times ( makes money) ..the 9 hole couse with a member is a pound a hole..need I say more ?

Played in April 2005, had to agree with everything already written, except green fees they are now £23, great opening hole and the experience just gets better.

I have been a member of the club for 5 years starting at a handicap of 24.
I now play off 8. The reason is simple, although Forest Park golf club is a flat course, it is the second longest off the white tees,it challenges every aspect of the game and ability of every player, it is rapidly improving with its excellent condition of greens ( which are always true ). It is like everything, to get better you have to challenge yourself physically and mentally. On a calm day it is possible to shoot low but ironically the greens can be tricky when they are fast. On a windy day it can play like a links course which exercises your range and variation in shots. This club is progressing at a rapid rate of knots thanks to the superb maintenance plan, the funds available from the owner and just recently the permanent position of a professional which has brought this club into the big league. I predict that in 5 years time when the trees have made this an even tighter course than it is, it will be the best course in the area if it isn't already.

I played the old foss course on Wednesday 13 Oct 99, the fairways and greens are in good condition. This course provided a great challenge to players of all abilities and the other facilities are of a great standard. The price shown in this web page is incorect, the green fee's are now £17 per round.
