The course is undergoing some rework which looks like it will be largely finished by early summer 2008.
It's a mixed bag of holes. From the short, open 1st hole, you'd be forgiven in thinking it was an overly simple course... however, it opens up into some longer, slightly more challenging holes. The back 9 nine are quite varied and you're frequently playing against the side of a hill, where the holes have been well thought out, presenting several very challenging holes.
It's a very good course - friendly staff, nice members and I would say by the summer, it's will be in my top 5 for the area

OK, so winter golf might not be terrific at Chartridge but the restrictions are justified when you play the course on a glorious May day as i recently have. I found the course to be reasonably interesting and it's refreshing to play a course that tests your irons more than your driver.Quite hilly through the middle but good fun and at £15 pound a peaceful and tranquil bargain.Staff were friendly and helpful. One gripe, the bar was the smallest i've ever seen in a golf club.

Having played this course several times over the last year and I always found it to be in a reasonable condition. It has some really challenging holes and is reasonably good value.
However having played today I was dissapointed with the winter provisions on the course. Before teeing off we were informed that a few of the holes were on temporary greens. In fact all bar one were and the positioning of the winter greens ruined the layout and challenge of most of the better holes, the 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th and 18th being the worst examples.
A dissapointing visit and I would not recommend any winter golf at this venue

I was a member at this friendly club. The course is interesting with some challenging holes and natural hazards. However the course is short and some members have difficulty playing to their handicaps elsewhere.
The greens are slow and are not very receptive in summer. The fairways are hard with plenty of roll in summer but become very soggy in winter. The course drains poorly and is best played in summer.
A lot of work has been done to improve the condition of the course which is now above that of a municiple course but below that of most members clubs. The green fees represent reasonable value.
