Played another round her on the 18/3/07 and i cannot believe that this golf course doesn't have any yardage markers and for £14 which is very steep for 9 holes.

The fairways wern't cut. On the plus the side the greens were in the best condition i'd seem them there.

At £14 for nice holes that is very expensive even at £20 for 18, playing the same 9 holes is expensive. Especially when you can play courses with quality like old thorns and hever castle for under £25 with a 2-1 voucher.

Although steep in price i did find the design and the layout of some of the holes to be fairly interesting. It came as a pleasant suprise to have a few holes with such charater on a 9 hole course.

The condition wasn't great. I played just before and just after xmas and the fairways were very boggie and was hard to tell fairway from the rough. The greens had numerous amounts of unrepaired pitch marks, probably reflecting on the type of inconsiderate golfer that plays here and the fact that it is a public course.

Played course on Saturday 29th April. Greens were not very good with fairly large aeration holes being a nuisance.I concur with previous reports that par 3s 2nd/7th need something done to be more challenging. The large trees on the 6th/9th and various water hazards do make it interesting and essential to be accurate.

The thing i found a shock was the price of £14 for nine holes. This has gone up considrably from the last time i played and is very expensive for a not overly challenging course

Heaton Masters (England) 06/10/05

Played this afternoon and had a very enjoyable experience. A great value for money (only £7.50 between 12 and 4 for 9 holes) course that I shall most certainly be visiting again. The facilities are of a very well maintined standard as are most of the components of the course.

If only it were not for that bunker to the left of the green on the, arguably, most difficult hole 8.

With the p.m. mid-week green fee being £7.50 for nine holes, Pachesham is fairly competative. I played the course in mid May and found it to be in reasonable condition considering the lack of rain and heat. The tees were a bit patchy but the greens, although slowish, held the line of the putts well.

The first five holes do seem a little squeezed together but no more so than many courses and not to an unsafe extent. The last, and obviously newer, four are well spaced.

The two par 3's, the 2nd and the 7th, would benefit from additional hazards to lend some excitment to fairly straightforward tee shots.

Straight, uncomplicated two shot holes come at the 1st and the 4th. Provided that the tee shot is even in the vicinity of the fairway will make finding either green a distinct possibility for most. The 3rd hole, though, has out-of-bounds left, a lateral hazard right and a narrow, raised green. A ditch across the front of the 5th green ensures that longer hitters will have a choice to make on the tee. If playing from the front tee this choice will apply to many more. The same form of hazard is the main feature of the longer, downhill 8th hole.

Holes 6,8 and 9 are good enough to enhance most parkland layouts with position off the tee essential if a large, mature Oak is not to interfere with the second shot on the 6th and a similar size of tree, growing in the middle of the 9th fairway, adds interest to the second shot on this par 5.

The biggest downside of this course would have to be the long walks from some greens to the next tee. In the region of 200 yards from 4th green to 5th tee and 300 yards from the 5th, including a road crossing.

On the positive side there is a driving range and good short game practice area. Any staff I met were very pleasant and helpful and the pro shop appears capable of meeting any of your needs in that department.

Oh dear!

Has to be the worst maintained course in Surrey - perhaps with the exception of Moore Place. The tees are awful & you can only play off them 1/2 the year. The temporary tees are amongst the worst I've played off too - few are even flat!

The fairways don't drain properly in winter & are half bald from spring onwards. The greens are also patchy and the bunkers might as well have concrete in them.

There seems to be plenty of money spent there - v. affluent area - however a gaudy bar seems more important than a well maintained course.
