just got back from an interesting days golf. set off with high hopes and scoring 21 points on the front 9 (this included a none scored hole) we headed up to the back nine well the heavens opened and what is an already tough challenge just got made a whole deal worse. a fantastic test of golf tho and some great holes inc 10 15 16 18. a friendly clubhouse meets your at the end of your round. all in all a good day out, just check tthe weather report first.

Great greens and tees, fairways were also in great condition. The front 9 is mostly flat with a few interesting holes in particular 5 and 9 which require good positional tee shots to get a good line into the green. When you head to the 10th yr in for a climb but when yr up there its all worth it. The 10th is a cracking hole and is followed up by the next 8! The green fee is worth it for the back 9 alone, one of the best I’ve played. If you are in area this course is a must.

Played Ramsdale yesterday on a corporate day, and all i can say is it was excellent! friendly, good food and good beer. As for the Golf the front nine is easy and a nice way to build you up for the completely different back 9, good tees, good greens, good bunkers and very good fairways. It was very windy witch made it even more challanging. Put it this way: only one person out of aprox 20 hit the fairway on the hole we played longest drive. All in all a great day out and will defo be returning in the near future!

Played the High Course for the first time last Thurs for £18.50.
As suggested below, a fairly flat front nine, shorter but more heavily bunkered than the back, with a couple of short par 4's easing you into the round. First half of back nine is particularly hilly and with less bunkering. I personally didn't find the climb between 9 and 10 too strenuous.
Some really good holes, esp. 11 and 14 to 16 in my humble opinion. Huge doglegs at 9 (left) and 14, (right) you can cut yards off the approach with a well directed tee shot.
Course condition generally V. Good, although all par 3's and couple of others were still on winter mats. Probably about worth £18.50 (£20+ at weekends?) in top midsummer condition. With a TFO voucher an undoubted bargain for arond a tenner.

Played the high course twice now and it just gets better every time.greens and fairways on the high and low course are looking in tip top condition.plenty of birdie opportunities on the front nine of the high course, which is appreciated before you get to the killer of a back nine.to be fair though, the back nine is the nicest part of the course,as it is extremely challenging and enjoyable.well stocked pro shop, nice club house and driving range and a friendly atmosphere all round.well worth the money!

after playing ramsdale - the climb up to the back 9 on a tarmac path is just to much of an effort - ok if you are 18 or in the SAS and super fit - but then - having to play the next hole and the next all up hill - talk about sweating and panting - legs hurting - not to mention the big thumping in the side of my neck -but did i enjoy it - WELL OF COURSE I DID
