Not in brilliant condition but not too bad. Hole locations need to be moved more regularly as the green had turned a shade of black around the pins on every green and resembled a lumpy donut. The how to play the course guide on the website is useless for the front 9 as these seem to have all been switched around. A flat fairly straightforward course.

Really rather poor. Quite a disapointing experience as there was a large amount of bird faecal matter and the course seemed a bit neglected.
No map or directions on the tees. A basic municipal course at best.

Not a long course but with most of the Solihull clubs being so expensive and hard to get into, there has to be somewhere for golfers under 40 in the area to play, and 'Royal' Widney Manor it is for a lot of people like me!
The greens are a lot slower than private clubs and it is shorter (and a lot easier) but there is water around and out of bounds all along the 11th fairway (the M42 motorway!) which makes it tough.
First impressions weren't great as the net dividing the 1st from the range runs all along the left of the 1st fairway and doesn't look that appealing. Once your out on the course though it's actually quite scenic and if you ignore the noise from the M42 you'd be hard pressed to think you were basically in the middle of the Monkspath Estate.
8th is a bizarre par 3 over some woods, you can barely see the green so it can be quite dangerous. Favourite hole has to be 13, a short par 4 downhill, but with water at the front and a sloping green. Clubhouse nice too.

a very nice course not overly challenging but a well kept course offering some wide fairways but it can be a windy course as it's quite flat there are some challenging holes with water and some very well placed bunkers overall a good days golf can be had

Played here for the first time and was well impressed, nice club house and challenging course. Definately not for the real beginners as the fairways are quite narrow (namely 1st, 2nd & 18th. Course held up well to torrential rain from previous few days, should play loads better when drier.

I play this course several times a year.
Holes have recently been changed - 5th (removed)
7th and 8th extended and a new hole 8th.
Old holes 6th, 7th and 8th have become 5th 6th and 7th.
The card shown has not been changed yet to reflect this.
Although still on the short side, there are some good holes. I like the 9th which is a dog leg and a short
hitter - like myself struggles to get 2nd shot into the green.
Another good hole is the 17th which is a short par 3.
You have to play over a small pond. There are trees on
each side and also a stream that runs along the left and behind the green.
3 holes run parallel to the M42 which makes it a bit noisy.
