I suspect that all of the previous comments are from golfers that play outside of Yorkshire! I have played much hillier courses than this. I thought it was a great test with some really interesting holes. New clubhouse so facilities excellent.

I never knew Dewsbury had a mountain range until I played here! This is a very very hard walk, and I'm not sure it's worth the effort. The first 7 or so holes are garbage, steep inclines, sloping lies, poor design etc. The back 9 is a little more interesting, in particular the downhill par 4 that is like looking down the ramp of a ski jump. It's worth playing here at least once purely for the experience and I've always found the course in good nick, especially the greens. Pro, staff and members seem friendly enough. The clubhouse was a disgrace the last time I played there ( it was raining and there were at least half a dozen buckets around the clubhouse to catch water coming through the leaking cieling!) but I believe they've built a brand new clubhouse since. If you have the constitution of a mountain goat this ones for you - 5.5/10

Very challenging but pleasant course, not for the weak hearted. I would recommend Sherpa Tenzing as a caddy.

First nine holes are all up hill & is not for the faint hearted.
Tip: Take hiking boots & oxygen
