Knotty Hill Golf Centre Player Reports
Johan Burlingfield (Sweden) 22/06/05
I was hugely impressed with Knotty Hill Golf Centre from the minute I arrived in the car park, 6.40am and a carpark attendant waiting for me to assist with any parking difficulties, excellent stuff.
Once the car was safely parked within the boundaries, I moved into the clubhouse where I was greeted by a delightful chap by the name of Kenny, very pleasent, he ensured all players met the dress regulations of the course, informed us of any grounds under repair and wished us luck.
We played Course C & D, a great mix of different lengths and obstacles, a thoroughly enjoyable round. The course was challenging as no two holes seemed two alike, there were many water hazards, or hazards from the tee as well as many fairway bunkers.
Overall, it was an excellent value for money round and I would certainly return again. Negative point would be the lack of bar, as we had to travel to the nearest watering hole for after round refreshments.

This is a popular course, and at only £13 to play at the weekend you can see why. All four sets of nine holes are similar. Not too much in the way of hazards (very few bunkers), but the greens are small so you have to be accurate to get a good score.

i have played at knotty hill on several occassions and found that both the a&b and c&d courses are excellent value for money.the a&b course are the harder of the 2 due to the fairways being tighter and the trees and rough being more established.the course is in fairly good condition but found the greens a little pebble dashed as other players have not repaired their pitch marks. the staff are very friendly and the facilities are excellent with 3 different options of a driving range as well as a practice bunker and 2 large putting greens. I can;t wait until the new 9 holes they are constructing are finished as it will give a player even more options when booking

As a member of knotty hill i think the princess course is an excellant challange for most golfers, there is a good range of practice areas and also the bishops course, the staff ar freindly and welcoming but the club on a whole does lack a bar and the food could be better, if its just golf you want "BRILLIANT"

Great facilities. With the option of a driving range from 3 locations, a practice putting green, practice chipping/bunker area and 2 very different courses!
Course A&B is much longer than C&D. A&B course is quite straight forward, the first nine are of varying length and with some obstructions, while the back 9 are all pretty much long and straight without many obstacles.
COURSE C&D is shorter, but with very different holes. The lengths are different, and have several water hazards/trees/other obstacles.
Big down point - NO BAR in the clubhouse :-(
