Played 24 holes today for the first time,6 holes on the short course with the replica of saw grass hole ,trust me a great challange as I have played the Florida hole. Then played 18 holes on the much improved now named Hawtree course.Greens are true and with good speed, definition of the fairways is a sight to be seen, compliments to the green staff.Clubhouse has had a face lift, and the friendly happy to help staff always make the visit.would I go back? yes what could they have improved?buggy paths.

Played 36 holes over two days, after playing Forrest Pines earlier in the week I was expecting it could not have been beaten.Rudding golf staff very friendly,Clubhouse cosy with good food and shop staff imformative.
I was not expecting the greens to be in the greatest condition ,however the growth look good and they ran true and fast.Fairways are wide but the greenstaff have been clever and the definition to the green is fantastic.
Pitch mark repairer given to all that played ,this is working as we did not have to repair many on the course.Speed of play 4hrs good to say we played on the weekend.
Would we go back?
Yes ,but this time on the sunday offer as the Hotel is very nice ,nice treat for the wife.

Aptly described by one of my playing partners as a "hotel golf course": wide open fairways with few hazards so that even the hackiest hacker can feel like he can play the game. Corresponding downside is that I was repairing 3 or 4 pitchmarks on every green, the greens being the worst I've played on for this price level.
It is a very long course, which is where the test comes in for the higher handicap golfer: you need a really good driveto get to the dog-leg on some of the par 4s. But generally an average course.
The hotel is nice though.

Update on last report. Rudding provides a much improving test of golf. New bunkers have been added, notably on the 7th. Large amounts of drainage works have gone in, particularly on the 14th which is the signature hole. I suspect that this will be replaced by the waste of time short hole, but hopefully much later in the season.
At the same time a 6 hole? par three is well in progress with what looks like a Sawgrass style final hole, and apparently a further 9 hole loop will be added together with a new club house.
All in a pretty fair club for the money. Only downside is the all too often confusion regarding tee times, typically related to introducing hotel guests, paying punters and club members into the same schedule.

Played early Feb 06. Damp but not waterlogged and no temp greens or tees.
A course that is well worth the £20 mid week rate. Plenty of long holes, water and a few bunkers. the latter appear to be being increased and one or two were having remodeling as I played.
Good driving range and general facilities.
Plans afoot to upgrade and add a second course.
