ONE OF MY FAVOURITE COURSES. UNTIL RECENTLY I'VE ONLY PLAYED THIS COURSE IN WINTER(WHEN IT IS ONLY £8 MID WEEK - A SUPERB DEAL) AND CAN PLAY LONG AT TIMES. THE COURSE THOUGH TAKES ON A TOTALLY DIFFERENT COMPLEXION IN DRY CONDITIONS, WHERE THE LONG PAR 4'S ARE REACHABLE AND IS A FAIR TEST OF GOLF FOR ALL LEVELS. THE COURSE IS IN PLEASANT SURROUNDINGS AND HAS SEVERAL MEMORABLE HOLES THE 17TH & 18TH TO NOTE. I WOULD ARGUE THOUGH WITH SOME OF THE STROKE INDEX ALLOCATIONS, THE 6TH IS A LONG DIFFICULT PAR 4 AND IS ONLY RATED AT 14???!! THE CLUBHOUSE IS THE FRIENDLIEST I HAVE COME ACROSS AND MAX IN THE PRO SHOP GIVES A WARM & FRIENDLY WELCOME. PLAY THIS COURSE - YOU'LL ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

Quite a new course, but maturing well, and uses the land cleverly, despite quite a long walk that separates the 3rd to 8th holes from the rest of the course. That particular section contains some exhilarating switchback holes, the 6th being an especially fine driving hole. The last four holes are in their own pocket of land as well, and provide a picturesque and challenging finish. The 17th calls to mind the 12th at Augusta, and the home hole requires a fine second shot to carry both a pond and a mature tree, and to climb on to the green, all the while avoiding a treacherous little pot bunker at its front.
