Manor Golf Club Player Reports

Played here during the “monsoon period” of late June 2007. Our first attempt to play was rained off when the threat of lightning sent us back to the clubhouse to enjoy the excellent food and drinks on offer. Returned the next day, and having explained our problem of the previous day, was offered a complementary round for our four ball. This is a tight, tree lined, easy walking golf course with plenty of undulations to the fairways. Lakes, ponds and streams come into play on several holes; a course planner is a good investment.
The greens were superb, large and with enough undulations to make them interesting, but not so difficult to render them unplayable for the average club golfer. A few bunkers were flooded, but considering the deluge of the previous 24 hours, the course in general, was in very good and playable condition. This would make an ideal venue for any society, currently there is major improvement work being completed in the clubhouse and the facilities look very impressive.
One common gripe of mine, the 150 yard posts were frequently pushed back into the trees, making them difficult to spot unless you were dead in line with them, I like to be able to see them when looking forward or backwards and not have to go searching for them. But overall well worth a visit, they told us that 2 for 1’s will not be accepted in the future, so check the green fee costs.

Very well kept, interesting course. A Little of everything, dog legs, water, undulation. Hole 16 Green surrounded by water, so accuracy is tested.
Great value for money and is second only to Woodhall Spa as a course in Lincolnshire.
Always peaceful and everyone is very friendly.
A Fair test of golf for all abilities with a number of risk - reward shots thrown in.

The course is kept to a very high standard thanks to hard working greens staff.

Being a member here I can say that it's easily the best course in the area.
There is always a challenge with the tees being in tough posistions and the pins can be in difficult places.
The greens are constantly maintained at a high standard, consequently they're always brilliant to putt on!

Very pleasant course with very friendly people. Tees very hard & inconsistant but otherwise fine. Greens can be a little slow at times but have some testing pin positions.
