Played this course again after a break of a couple of years and was happy to find it still in excellent condition and well maintained.
As previous reviews have mentioned, it IS a short course (7 par 3's !) but it is a very pleasant, pretty course nevertheless.
The atmosphere IS a little 'traditional' (ie: stuffy...) but has a good pro shop, an excellent club-house and even manage to squeeze in a little driving range.
They take 2-fore-1 vouchers after noon on weekends, so the course fee was £31-00 per pair.
Give it a go !

A short course, but one which is nice to play. To be honest, I don't think anyone with a handicap below 18 could hack being a member as there simply isn't the challenge offered, but as a nice day out on a fat course, where you have to fiddle the ball round rather than use brute strength, this is OK.
Nice looking clubhouse which has an upstairs level, also good to see a well stocked pro-shop and a driving range to warm up. This place has potential for averege golfers, or those just learning the game, as it is a nice, relaxing setting and a pretty area of the countryside.

Having a few rare hours to spend last Saturday afternoon I popped down to try this course, and I have to say pretty glad I did.
The twilight green fee was only 17.00,giving me plenty of time to get around before nightfall. The course is short but loses nothing for it,given it was my first visit you need to get your bearings as quite a few doglegs and it is not alway advisable to get the big dog out.The fairways were in first class condition and considering this is a fairly new course the greens were true if a little slow.
It may not suit everyone granted, but it is flat and a very easy walk and given the area that it is in good value. The staff in the pro shop were very helpfull and the clubhouse looked clean and tidy,I noticed that they are being proactive enough to offer a "gatweway to golf " membership which basically offers you 50 rounds or therabouts for 500.00 which seems terrific value.

I think most people who play this course, as a visitor, will agree with most of my comments to follow:-
Firstly the course:
We started on the driving range, which although not wide - long enough for most.
The course played very well considering it is October and we have had a lot of rain recently. Although not long (see the card) there were some interesting holes and with excellent greens. The course is also very pleasing to the eye as you make your way round. Trees, water and sand are placed very well to make it slightly challenging, but not difficult. You can easily score here if you're on your game of course.
All in all, a very good and enjoyable short course.
Other comments:
Firstly, we were greeted by one of the employees in the club shop whose first comment was to suggest my friend tuck his shirt in as it is course rules.
While on the course, a member playing in a 4 ball thought it necessary to march 30 yards or so from their tee to ask my friend to tuck his shirt in as it was course rules. Now, my friend was not looking like a shabby chav, only his shirt had come out slightly wile we were on the putting green as it was little short.
Now when we completed our round, we changed our golf shoes and went to go for a relaxing beer in the clubhouse. But, before getting anywhere near the clubhouse entrance we were again stopped and asked if we could be helped. After stating that we were going to have a beer, they asked that we change our shoes (we were wearing shoe like trainers which were obviously not good enough). I informed the gentleman that we only had our golf shoes in the car, to which we aware informed we would not be able to go into the clubhouse in those but would be able to sit outside and drinks be brought out to us!
Now, I fully understand that clubs have rules and dress codes, but the overall feeling here was that the tone and attitude used towards us (as we were not members) was less than favourable. They did seem to be very happy to take our cash though for the round.
A final comment, would be that I am not here to slate everyone we encountered at the club. Most people we came across were very nice as you would expect. On the last hole a gentleman landed his second shot on the green only 2 feet away from me, but was more than apologetic and disgusted with himself for not checking round the dogleg right corner her had just sent is shot over. So I would still recommend this course to anyone, but would hope that the staff (and some members) would be a little more friendly to the visitor.
Enjoy

I have played here several times in the last year and it is a lovely little club/course, tucked away in Chalfont St Giles.
Although it is a little expensive (they DO take 2-fore-1 vouchers), you can tell where the money is going - the fairways are lush, greens immaculate and bunkers full of soft sand !
The course is very short (5000 yards off the yellows), but with some lovely feature holes.
I would heartily recommend it !
