Bramcote Water Golf Course Player Reports
John Greenwell (England) 13/09/06
played today 13/9/06
a nine hole course that offers somthing for every player no matter what level of play.
This course has 3 par 3's and 6 par 4's ,only one of which you realy need a driver from the tee.
dont let this fool you mind, because if you are not on target there is many a tree, water hazard or bunker waiting to claim your ball.
the best holes are the par three 5th , 150 yards all carry over water to a green sloping from back to front.
the par four 7th, a dog leg right of 390 yards, a good 5/6 iron tee shot short of a ditch and pond to leave another in to a big green surrounded by a bank.
and my favourite hole the par four 8th, about 255 yards with a split fairway. it is reachable from the tee but the ditch running through the center splitting the fairway in two needs to be avoided.
as do a pond left and long of the green.
the other holes are fun but dont stand out as much.
the club house and pro shop is made up of several portable units and makes it look a bit make shift.
however go inside to the bar and you can have a breakfast and pint for less than £6.
the pro shop has a few bits but is small.
staff are very friendy as are the members and this is what realy makes this a good venue to play.
if you want to use the big stick on every tee then go elswhere, this is a course to think your way round. i shot 3 under may handicap of 12 and had a great time go on give it a try.

An enjoyable test of your irons and short game. You really only need a good drive at the second and fourth. The slopes on the greens help to keep scores higher and the brave player can take a driver and cut many corners BUT if you don't get it right expect a big score. Friendly club house with simple but value for money facilities.

THE BLOCK ABOVE IS TALKING BOLLOX THE COURSE ISNT BRILLIANT BUT ITS NOT THAT BAD IT CAN BE TESTING AND SUITS A BEGINER
Alan (English) 25/08/00
A newly opened course that has still to mature.
If you like a course with poor fairways, naff greens and one that you play with a putter and pitching wedge then this is the course for you. Personally, I do not like pitch and puts!
Brian Rogers (English) 04/04/00
A short 9 hole course that offers a good test of you accuracy due to two particularly devilish right hand dog leg par 4's. worth a visit if in the area however the course can suffer from local flooding and is not advisable after heavy rain
