As a memebr of Henley Golf sand Country Club i would have to agree with some of the comments of Martin Madsen below, although i would say the greens are some of the best i've played on, and Being a previous member of The Forest of Arden and Playing The Brabazon would have to say they was at least on par with The Forest.
The Par 5 18th can be a very long hole if you've had a bad round, The first tee can ruin your game having shot double figures on it a couple of times, but then i hit many birdie's and even an albertoss on this hole. If the wind picks up and you struggle to control your tee shot's your in for a tough round. Some great views, especially off the 12th tee.
Not enough features around the course for my liking, but became a member due to the great 22-28 year old member fee. Just £395 for a year.
Most members are friendly here and i enjoy most of the competitions here.
In the clubhouse the food is excellent and at a reasonable cost, all in all i am happy with everything Henley G&CC has to offer.

Another to fall into the category of "Nice new course, give a few years and it'll be great". Don't get me wrong, I would love to come back here in a few years time and see that this has matured into a really testing golf course with tree tined fairways, fast greens and tough water hazards, but the real improvement needs to be in the greens.
The other issue here is that it starts and ends with long par 5's. This is all well and good, but this is a club dealing often with societies and less experienced golfers, who can easily lose heart after racking up a big score on the 1st hole. The 18th is similar length and with the clubhouse in sight, can be a long trek for players who've had a bad round and lost the will to live towards the end.
First impressions are good. The clubhouse is modern, with nice bar facilities and good changing rooms. The course itself is rather open and hilly, therefore becoming very difficult in the wind. The course isn't all that memorable, other than the par 3's and two par 5's that start and end the course.
Others would argue that the green fees are what they are because of the difficulty of the course and the facilities (which are, it has to be said, very good). However, something about the course just didn't do it for me.

Played here easter weekend and found it quite boring there are 2 nice par 3holes but the rest are bland the only challenge was not knowing the layout but to be fair there was very little wind ,as it is such an open course it will be tough when it blows .I play at the west midlands and that is tough with the wind at 30 squids it is too expensive

Joined the club back in June '03 and couldn't be happier! Very friendly club with a well laid out course. The 9 hole par 3 course is really good for helping your short game!

This seems to be an improving golf course. It is long, tough and has a spacious feel. It's an exposed location and wind adds to the challenge. The greens are OK only but should improve with time. Lovely clubhouse with excellent food. Good value for money on 2-for-1, bit pricey at £30 if you're paying full whack.

20/8/01 Update.
The clubhouse has now been completely overhauled and is very impressive.
The fairways are very narrow and the rough has been allowed to grow quite long and is undergrown with clover in many parts.
You will need to bring plenty of balls with you.
