I played cotgrave over ths christmas period and found the course in fantastic condition. We played of full tees and were not on any temporary greens which was a great releif. I found the staff more than helpfull when I arrived with my two pals and was informed of some special offers that they were running through the winter period. So we will definatly be returning in the near future to play the other course at Cotgrave. All in all a fantastic day to start of the christmas period. Would recommend this course to all golfers.

Played on both the Open and the Masters courses over a period of 2 months with friends and would rate the conditions as 10/10. Very well maintained and friendly staff, a pleasure to play and relax in the smart clubhouse. Not a typical club in terms of snobbery but one that seems to welcome anyone who wishes to play golf. I shall be back in the summer. Thank you Cotgrave Place.

Cotgrave Place is a wonderful golf course, set in the heart of Nottinghamshire countyside, yet just a stones throw from the city centre (signposted from A52).

The reception from the pro-shop staff was excellent, They were very helpful and polite,

Once we were on to the course (the open), we found the greens in tip-top condition, fairways and surronds excellent,

There is a lot of water on this course, so it is rather challenging, even for better players.

Once we had finished our match we had a meal in the clubhouse, quite a thorough menu to chose from (rather pricey), but very delightful.

I would give Cotgrave Place Golf Club 9/10 for presentation and quality of playing surfaces, a tremendous venue for all types of players.

What a wonderful setting in the English countryside. Two wondeful courses mantained to the highest standards. Staff very friendly, with the balance of members and visitors managed very well. Had a testing 36 holes of golf for 35 pounds with a buggy for 25 pounds for the day. My buddy and i will be back soon, for the golf, Sunday lunch in the private rooms with all the trimmings and of course the nightlife of Nottingham. Thanks to Cotgrave.

A wonderful setting for 2 wonderful courses. Well maintained and open all year round. Very friendly staff, with no limitations on golfers as i could see. I would recommend this as a venue to all golfers,no hotel facilities on site but sales staff at the club helped the group i was in to get preferetial rates!

Now a 36 hole complex with quite different set ups.

The open course is probably the better of the 2.

The front nine is set on the lower part of the course and nearly every hole consists of water so you need to be accurate to an extent. If you try to manage this nine with an iron off the tee then you leave yourself a much longer iron into the small greens. A good test.

The back nine follows the same course management need although there is not a lot of water. The holes are varied both in approach and length with a gem being the 15th. The par 4 15th is only 300 yards long but there is a ravine at approx 120 yards and another at 200. If you go for it with the driver and fluff it your either in the water or the trees lining the hole, and if you attack with an iron you need to be accurate as the ravines taper into each other in the landing area.

The Masters course is completely different with the front nine quite literally like walking up and down a field. However the back nine changes things and although short it is by no means a pushover. The par 3 16th proves a true test of grit from the back sticks as you have a 160 yard carry into a thin green with a lot of trouble at the back. Very hard to stop on the green and i have seen players score a 10 here without hitting a bad shot.

Cotgrave Place has two beautiful courses, which are a delight to play. However, as visitors myself and my colleagues were made to feel less than welcome by not only the members but also the staff in the pro shop.

We were watched with a large degree of suspicion as we practiced on the putting green and as we teed off on the 1st.

On the way round, we were hassled constantly by members in a condescending manner, I was even told at one point to tell my friend to tuck his shirt in after it had just come out as he was retrieving his ball from the hole. The member of staff in the pro-shop asked us 3 TIMES if we had our own clubs.

In summary, a lovely place to play golf but be prepared for the reception you may get.....
