Played this course 14 November 2007
A most enjoyable day out course was dry considering the recent wet weather
well sign posted and some very intresting holes
a fair challange to all levels
you do not need to be the longest hitter
to score well but you need to use your brain
as placement is more important than distance
cant wait to play it again.

Lexden Wood has undergone a £1m refit with the course completely changing. The owners have made the course 1000yds longer and replaced tee's and greens as well as 40 new bunkers and redesigned all the old ones. Jonathon Gaunt , quite a well know course designer was responsiable for the new layout. He should be proud as it is now one of the best courses i'v played. The shop is still fantastic and the staff are very welcoming. They do home cooked food that is the best!! Also they heve a new head gren keeper who has transformed the members oppinion( i should know i am a member).
The best course locally to be a member of.

I played this course last weekend on a very hot day as part of a society and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As a result of the lack of rain and the hot weather, the bounce off the fairways was unpredictable (to say the least) and it was very difficult to get approach shots to stay on the greens.
I found the back 9 more interesting than the front, even though there were more par 3's on the back than usual.
All the staff were friendly, the food very good, and the pro shop is one of the best that I have visited recently.
Definately worth a visit, but you could come unstuck if your game depends a lot on long drives!

Played here 3 times after a long lay off Positives are very friendly club, good food, excellent pro shop & parking facilities & excellent value for money especially the membership rates. The course though short is well designed and challenging for a high handicapper like me, it demands accuracy rather than a big hit
The only negatives are that it can get very muddy & there are some bare patches on the fringe of the green, the greens are quite poor especially the Third where the grass cutter dropped a load of oil and there are now 4 lines about 4 inches wide running right across the whole green.
Not all of the blame can be placed at the club though as we had to replace other peoples Divots & pitch marks on our way round.
the conclusion would be would I join ? .... answer would be probably.

Course in excellant condition considering the lack of rain. Greens fantastic, tees very good. Not the longest course in the world but the owners have spent alot of money improving it with trees and new greens. Pro shop is amazing, they have the best range of clothing i have ever seen at any golf club. Restuarant was fairly small but homecooked food was first class. Staff very friendly and mades us feel very welcome!
Keep up the good work.
