I played this course last week in terrible conditions (non-stop rain) and, unless it had been a charity event for the British Olympic Team, I'm sure that the course would have been closed.
Despite this, the greens and fairways were in good condition. The bunkers were so flooded that we lost balls in them, but they were well positioned.
For my standard of golf (18 handicap) some of the holes were a bit too long, and not many were particularly memorable.
In all, not a course that I want to rush back and play again - I would prefer to visit Chart Hill or Dale Hills that are under the same ownership. Also, the standard weekday green fees of £100 mid-week are, in my opinion, overpriced - I need a memorable course for that sort of money.
However, as the conditions were so bad, it may well have coloured my judgement.

I had the pleasure of playing in the London Golf Show's Premiership Pro-Am on Wednesday 15th March 2006. I had read alot about The Oxfordsire and was really looking forward to the day, and I wasn't dissapointed. Course was in superb condition, with by far the quickest greens I have ever played on. It was a Shotgun start, with our 4-Ball going of the 2nd. There were some wonderful holes, my favourtie was the 9th which plays back up to the clubhouse. Standing on the T you easily forget you are only 10 Mins from the M40. A great links feel to the hole. My only grumble was it looked like they have really cut the rough back, so it doesn't punish wayward shots at all. The only balls I lost were to the water !!!!!! I had the pleasure of getting a Par on the 17th (Padraig Harrington shot 14 in the B&H Masters). A great day complemented by the wonderful staff. The clubhouse is fantastic. Pro-shop was smaller than I imagined, but you should only really need a score card and course planner from the anyway !!!!
Shame I can't afford the £100 for a round in the summer but at least I got the chance to play it.
Go play it and enjoy, soak up the atomsphere :-)

I was fortunate enough to be a member in 1995/1996
the course is truly fantastic, scenic challenging and extremely well manicured compared to a majority of Uk courses, it reminded me of an inland links course, and coming from Melbourne Australia, it provided me with the quality and type of golf I am used to here.

beg borrow or steal to play this fantastic golf course. a truly magnificent test of golf. greens and fairways in superb condition throughout the year, and what is more, the course is never crowded.
