Nazeing Golf Club Player Reports

A well layed out course which while isnt that difficult, is stretched by the strategic placing of water and bunkers. Numerous greens are surrounded by bunkers, and a good course management is needed for a low score. Some of the bunkers are quite deep (as i found out). Played a 3 ball today in 4 hours for £18 each, and not pushed from behind. Holes that stand out were the 238 yard par 3 13th, with water down the right and a massive tree down the left which actually turned my round into 90+ after scoring an 8. All that after starting with 3 pars. A good day out.

I play Nazeing on a regular basis using 2-fore-1 vouchers. The course is always in good condition and I've always found the staff to be helpful. I play on weekdays and I rarely have a slow round, or the opposite, where the group behind are trying to get done in under 2 hours. The previous comments say this is bland but I disagree. There is a good mixture of long and short holes and the water hazzards always get my attention (as well as my ball usually). If you hit it very long and fairly straight (wide fairways)it's probably less challenging for low handicappers, but I play off 18 and usually play to my handicap around here.

I was suprised at how much I enjoyed this course having already read the comments below. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition, holes heavily bunkered and an decent layout. It certainly wasn't bland.
Again, 2-fore-1 make this course areal bargain.
Will definitely be playing this one again.

Having read the previous comments regarding this course, I was not looking forward to playing it on my Society Day. what I found was a revelation. We were greeted well by the Pro staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Plenty of new Range balls, and a starter, made sure we got off on time. The front 9 was quite a stiff challenge, with the Lake at the Dog Leg 1st claiming it's fair share of balls..what a start ! A good mix of holes leads you to the Stroke index 1 6th Hole, 430 yards, with large lake on right of green. The only spoiling feature being the Pylon on right, in the rough, but also in play for those with a slice.
Lovely sweeping Fairway up to the club house at the 9th.
Back 9 shorter, but no less of a challenge, with Good Par 5's at 10 and 12, followed by the toughest Par 3 I've played at 13. 212 yards, out of Bounds on left, Large lake on right, as fairway narrows towards the green, a great hole if you can hold your nerve. The 17th is a short par 4, easily reachable with today's Driver's, but beware O.B on left. The 18th was a testing par 4 off of the yellow tee's, and a good par 5 from the Whites.
Catering staff were very friendly, as were the members we met.
I would not hesitate to recommend this course, and we are planning to return.

Bland. Good value on 2-fore-1 vouchers and now well maintained. I doubt we'll be back though; the course is not interesting or varied enough.

I read the last comments before I played the course and was not looking forward to it. But I was pleasantly surprised the course is an excellant challenge with a good mix of short and long holes with lots of water. The greens are the best I have played on this year. Excellant value for money and cant wait to return.
