I would agree with most other reviews. Played today and course in great condition and a challenge for all levels. The par 3 17th a beautiful hole to play and the tee shot at the 18th a true risk and reward shot. Agree with quibble about no plans on card or hole so knowing where to play abit tricky at times. Would recommend to anyone and look forward to return trip.

Played here midweek June 07 (£22 using a county card).
Reasonably decent course.Peter Alliss designed modern course with sculptured moundings along the fairways & long grass in the rough.I was slightly non plussed by the front 9 but by the end of the back 9 i'd warmed to the course & had enjoyed the round.
A lot of thought has gone into the design & it reminded me a bit of Pyrford but with less water.
While there was nothing intrinsically wrong with the early holes (although off the whites there were too many medium/long iron shots in for my liking) i thought the back 9 holes were more enjoyable. The 17th is a fantastic 110 yard par 3 over a pond & on the par 5 18th you drive off over a lake & you have a clever risk & reward choice of two different routes through gaps in the trees to the fairway.
Excellent greens , good overall conditioning & presentation & this course drains incredibly well as there was absolutely no sign of the preceding days heavy rainfall.
One minor quibble was that there was no hole plan on the card or tee signs which meant sometimes you were aiming into the distance off the tee with not much idea of the shape of the hole.
For around £20 i'd say it's worth playing.

Our society had breakfast and coffee served by very friendly and polite bar staff, a good start to the day. Well stocked proshop with helpful staff. Although it had been raining for a couple of days, from the clubhouse the course looked as though it was draining well, and that was the case when we got out on the course, even the bunkers weren't too bad. All holes well laid out, a few doglegs stop you banging the driver on every hole, immaculate greens that run true, our 4 ball didn't get a single bobble all round. A couple of long par 4s S.I. 1 and 2, some long par 3s as well. Last hole is a par 5 teeing off over a lake with 2 options, 180 yards carry or 120 yards carry, gives everyone a chance in a society day. Definitely worth a visit.

Played this course yesterday and was quite impressed. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Fairways, rough etc.. were bone dry but the greens were in excellent condition. It didn't appear too challenging at first, but the design meant that control of both distance and direction are essential to get away with a reasonable score, the short 17th and the tee shot on the 18th being prime examples.

Played today in a charity day and thought it was a great little course. Had to play off the yellows which made most holes play a little short to really challenge longer hitters. Will play off white tees next time! Greens in great condition and a couple of great finishing holes that could make or break your round. I would not describe it as difficult but may be more challenging if the wind blows!

Played the course last week, found the course to be in excellent condition. It is a very picturesque golf course. Facilities are great and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend the course to others.
